This is an amazing place built by maharishi Mahesh Yogi a.k.a 84 kutia and beatles ashram as the beatles band visited this place for learning transcendal meditation. This place required minimum 2-3 hours for proper visit, .. compund contains 84 kutias or huts for solo meditation with dome shaped unique design, contains abandoned buildings of hotels , community kitchen , famous community hall and other structures mainly covered with beautiful murals now . One of the most mysterious structure is the butterfly shaped compounds with separate chambers.. one wonders why this place is built like that .. compund ends with a high ridge from where raw ganga ji can be seen flowing with vast bed .. very scenic and picturesque place .. a must visit place for photography too
Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review of the Beatles Ashram (84 Kutiya) in Rishikesh! We're delighted that you enjoyed exploring this unique place where Maharishi Mahesh Yogi taught Transcendental Meditation and where the Beatles spent time seeking spiritual inspiration. As you mentioned, the ashram is much more than just a historical site—it is a fascinating blend of meditation, art, nature, and mystery. The 84 meditation huts, the abandoned structures covered with vibrant murals, the famous meditation hall, and the intriguing butterfly-shaped building all tell stories that continue to inspire visitors from around the world. The panoramic views of the Ganges River flowing through the forested landscape make the experience even more memorable. We completely agree that visitors should allow at least 2–3 hours to fully appreciate the beauty, history, and peaceful atmosphere of this iconic Rishikesh attraction. Whether you're interested in spirituality, photography, architecture, or Beatles history, the Beatles Ashram offers a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you again for recommending our Beatles Ashram Art & Meditation Walking Tour. We hope to welcome you back to Rishikesh for more inspiring journeys in the future!
The tour was quite interesting, especially the “Beatles” Ashram we liked a lot, otherwise the other Ashrams were not quite as interesting, as everyone was quite similar. Tour was therefore a bit long.
Thank you very much for your honest feedback! 🙏 We’re really happy to hear that you found the tour interesting and that you especially enjoyed the Beatles Ashram. It truly has a unique atmosphere and history that makes it stand out.
I really enjoyed this walking tour in Rishikesh with Aaditya. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all my questions along the way. We visited several ashrams, including the famous Beatles Ashram, and I learned a lot about the area’s history and spiritual culture. Aaditya showed up right on time and made the experience relaxed and enjoyable.
It's fantastic that he was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in showing you the ashrams, including the Beatles Ashram, and teaching you about the area's history and spiritual culture. Punctuality and making the experience relaxed and enjoyable are key, and we're delighted he met those standards. We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to Aaditya!
Awesome tour guide and experience! Om shared so much of the culture and history. The pace was easy going and just wonderful. Beyond expectations.
Thank you for your wonderful review and experiences you had with us in Rishikesh.
Om is a knowledgeable guide on Ashrams and meditation. He did not come to reception at our hotel so there was another 10-15 minutes wait time. It’s not clear that the tour was a walking tour. I arranged it thinking there would be transport to the bridge as I have a bad leg and use a walking stick. He left us at the 2nd Ashram for lunch and said I was clever and we could find our own way back. There was extra walking again in the hot sun to find the tuk tuks to take us back. I had been to the Beatles Ashram before with my husband 2 years ago. This time with my friend so I knew if we had to walk it would be tiring for me. Om shared a lot of his own beliefs on meditation which was very interesting.
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding your recent Ashrams and Meditation Tour in Rishikesh with Om. We truly appreciate your honesty, as it helps us identify areas for immediate improvement and ensure a clearer experience for all our future guests interested in exploring the Beatles Ashram and other significant sites. We are delighted to hear that you found Om to be a knowledgeable guide and that you found his personal beliefs on meditation and spirituality very interesting. This is a positive aspect we strive for in our tours, focusing on an authentic and enriching experience in the spiritual heart of Rishikesh. However, we sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered, particularly the delay and the confusion regarding the nature of the tour. But it is very clear about that it is walking tour in descriptions. Om was before time and left you a message on your WhatsApp of his arrival and hotel person advised him to wait outside. Late Arrival: We are very sorry for the 10-15 minute wait time at your hotel reception. Punctuality is a core commitment, and we will address this with Om to prevent similar delays on future Rishikesh tours. Walking Tour Miscommunication: We deeply regret that the walking aspect of the tour was not clearly communicated at the time of booking, especially given your bad leg and use of a walking stick. Your comfort and safety are paramount, and we are immediately reviewing our booking process to ensure that all mobility considerations are clearly highlighted, and that the physical demands (like the walk to the bridge) of our spiritual walking tours are explicitly stated beforehand. We apologize for the extra and uncomfortable walking you had to do in the hot sun. Return Journey: We also apologize that you were left to arrange your own way back. It you agreed to have lunch at Ashram, and not included in the Itinerary. You agreed with guide to stay more and return on your own to your hotel. We appreciate you choosing us again for your Beatles Ashram visit and other Rishikesh ashrams, and we regret that this experience did not live up to your expectations this time. We would like to discuss this further to offer a meaningful resolution. Please contact us directly at rishikeshdaytour@gmail.com or +91-7078203030 so we can personally apologize and ensure your next experience exploring the Ashrams of Rishikesh is exceptional. We look forward to welcoming you back to the serenity and spirituality of Rishikesh soon. Warm regards, The Rishikesh Day Tour Team - Your Guide to Meditation and Ashrams in Rishikesh
Bit of a job to find - no signs and those that are in Hindi only refer to the tiger and elephant park. On one level, there really isn’t much here. On another level, that’s what makes it really rather lovely. No big signs, displays, noises. Have a little read up before you go and you will be in for a magical hour or two.
