Bella was an excellent Tour Guide with lots of information, and she was very accommodating with our time along the tour. It was rather moving to learn what these POWs and other regional participants experienced while constructing the railway, and the atrocious conditions they had to withstand. We were also served a very nice buffet lunch to eat while overlooking a peaceful view of the river.
This tour was absolutely brilliant! We had a great tour guide “Nan” The tour was very surreal and eye opening into what the soldiers went through in how badly they were treated. Very informative trip. Would definitely recommend
Day trip to Kanchanaburi, River Kwai, visit to Hellfire Pass, ride on the railway, visit to the war cemetery & museum in Kanchanaburi was brilliant. It was a very long day but definitely worth it. Our tour guide Nan was excellent; very knowledgeable & flexible with re-arranging our day to include the train ride, visit to the cemetery & museum. Really interesting learning about the Australian POW’s involvement in the Thai Burma railway. Thank you.
Spectacular, emotional and very highly rated. The tour was amazing, long day but well worth it. Very knowledgeable guide and very friendly
Seeing the pass and surrounding war sites was very moving and only right to show your respect. The tour itinerary covers all the critical places and the Thai Burma Railway museum well presented and highly informative. It's a long day but we'll well worth it. The tour van is first class and extremely comfortable
This was a long day but well worth it. We saved on a few other parts of this holiday so that we could afford this day out, and have no regrets in spending the extra on a private tour. Our guide was reasonably knowledgable, and left us to our own devices when appropriate - if you're after a step-by-step explanation of every part of the day then maybe this particular tour is not for you, but it worked for us. The absolute hightlght is Hellfire Pass, and the work that the Australian government have done here is amazing.
Visiting the sites was a great experience, as they are well maintained, however as they are free entry, this could easily be done at a fraction of the price if you hire a driver for the day to take you there. Once at the memorial sites all is self explanatory anyway and we were left to our own devices to look around and find information. I expected that paying this high cost ($450AUD) would also include a professional historian, not just a local person who has looked it up. Our guide was attentive and pleasant, with some good general knowledge of the events, however for the cost, an historian with more info was expected. I would not recommend doing this tour at this price.
We genuinely regret that your experience fell short of your expectations. We recognize the importance of having a knowledgeable guide to enrich your visit to these significant sites. While our guides are dedicated and well-informed, it's important to note that the expertise of a professional historian typically comes at a higher cost. Additionally, we'd like to inform you that our guide cannot accompany you if you opt to use the golf cart at Hellfire Pass. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will use it to ensure that future visitors receive the level of insight and engagement they expect. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
Excellent tour. We were looked after very well and had a complete informative tour. Would recommend. Great driver and guide. Lunch was great.
Peter & our driver were great! FUN & informative and coukdnt do ebough for us.. 👍 our day was suited to us perfectly. Always on time & made the most of our day. Thai traffic could make this a very long day but our driver was very good in the traffic! 10 hour day 3 hrs each wat .. but worth it xx
Very informative tour, our guide had great knowledge of the areas we visited and historical information. This is a long day tour and covers a lot of ground.
