Un recorrido privado con un chofer nativo siempre es una cosa especial para alguien que viene a visitar Monserrat con ganas de reir y pasarlo bien.

Itinerario
El Bruc, pequeña población pintoresca situada en la vertiente sur de la montaña, con parada de 10 minutos para disfrutar de panorámica y de la especial morfología de sus cumbres. Pasaremos por la estatua/monumento dedicada al “Timbaler” (héroe de la resistencia a Napoleón)
Convento/ Monasterio del S. XI. Una vez hemos cruzado a la vertiente norte llegamos al pequeño monasterio de estilo románico donde apreciaremos su magnífica arquitectura y habrá la posibilidad (caminando 5 minutos) de apreciar las vistas de Sant Benet y todo al valle con los Pirineos al fondo.
Llegamos a la Abadía donde dispondrán de tiempo libre para visitar la iglesia con la imagen de la Virgen negra, patrona de Catalunya.
Veremos la fachada de este museo ubicado a una altura de 720 metros sobre el nivel del mar
Cueva con capilla de donde se encontró la imagen original de la Virgen
Junto con la Santa Cueva, es la ermita de montaña más accesible de Montserrat. Está bien comunicada con el monasterio gracias al Funicular de San Juan y al Camino de las Ermitas, que dispone de tramos anchos y bien pavimentadas.
Regresamos por la carretera sinuosa de vertiente norte, cruzando el monasterio de Sant Benet , viendo las espectaculares paredes verticales y llegando al bonito pueblo de Monistrol, cruzado por el río Llobregat y de vuelta a origen

Awesome tour with James! Our personal tour of Monserrat with James was phenomenal! He was so easy to work with and graciously accommodated our requests with stops at El Bruc and Santa Cecilia de Montserrat; a visit to the Throne Room of Our Lady of Montserrat; attending a concert by the Escolania de Montserrat Boys’ Choir; and hiking the paved path from the Saint Joan Funicular! Our group of six hired James for a half day tour of the Monserrat Monastery near Barcelona. The Monastery and Black Madonna were amazing and James provided excellent background information at each of our stops. The scenery alone is worth the trip!

We really enjoyed our time with Jaime and the trip up to Montserrat. He provided information as we drove through Barcelona up to Montserrat — current and historic information about the city and its people. (It was January so quite cold, and he even gave one of our girls his coat to use…he went above and beyond!). The area was beautiful and I understand why so many locals escape for the day to hike and enjoy the views. If you are going to Montserrat, I would highly suggest Jaime, and especially if you are in a group!

Easy ride from Barcelona. Car was spacious and comfortable. James explained everything about Montserrat and arranged for tickets for us to see the Madonna. The site is beautiful and definitely well worth the trip. Overall, it was a pricey experience to have a driver otherwise would have given it a 5.
