Nonexistent tours in DC

I wish I COULD write a review. The tour operator NEVER SHOWED UP. We arrived on time and NO one was at the meeting point. We tried calling and got no response. We went to the house where Lincoln died and spent quite a bit of time there. NO tours showed up while we were there. On top of that, this tour promoted Ford's Theater on the agenda. We found out that it is CLOSED for the summer due to maintenance. FALSE advertising!!!! Unacceptable! I need to get my money back!

Disappointed

Need to have a tour operators actually call attendees and leave voicemail messages. The location was changed the day before I replied that I received that change via email and an hour before we were supposed to meet. It was changed again to a different location via a text message which I never received because I have blocking enabled on my phone. So we didn’t do the tour. Also, at the time of our tour, the theater is closed for remodel, so I’m not sure how good a tour this would’ve been.

Respuesta del operador

Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the meeting location and the communication you received. Due to changing road closures and event-related conditions, we occasionally have to adjust pickup locations on short notice, and we understand how frustrating this can be. We regret that our text message did not reach you and that you were unable to join the tour. Regarding Ford's Theatre, while the theater may occasionally be closed for renovations or maintenance, our tour focuses on the life, legacy, and assassination of President Lincoln and continues to provide the historical context of the site.

Read tour description carefully

Read the tour descriptions very, very carefully. The Lincoln theater is usually closed to the public during the summer, we found out when we went. Summer of 2026, there was construction, and the Lincoln museum was also closed. The Peterson House and small museum were open. The tour basically walked us outside along the city streets retracing Booths route and all we saw were the exit doors from the theater. Interesting info, but easily done on one’s own. Just be sure to read the tour description for this one carefully before paying. Also, the phone app did not stay updated for changes to our reservation which was frustrating. Customer service agents are very nice and helpful on the phone.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that some site closures and construction affected your experience. While access to certain historic locations can change due to seasonal operations and maintenance beyond our control, we understand how disappointing that can be. We appreciate your kind words about our customer service team and will continue working to improve communication whenever updates become available. Thank you for visiting with us, and we hope to welcome you back for an even better experience.

A little disappointed.

A little disappointed. From the event thumbnail, one (1) could assume that a tour of the Ford Theatre was included. Unfortunately, it was not. Not only that, the tour ended at the Ford Theatre, and the tour guide said that on the same day, Ford Theatre tickets are available next door. Well, of course, we went there hoping to snag some same-day tickets, and the sign said, "Closed for Maintenance." Not only that, but it was the Fourth of July weekend, and our tour was for 11 AM on July 3rd. We get a message the night before, saying hey, the road will be closed by 11 AM, we need to reschedule you at 8 AM. No issues. We agreed. We showed up at the designated place and time, no bus. We called. Someone answered and said, "... oh no, you are at the wrong pickup location. You need to be at 9th & Penn. We hurry over there. Still no bus. Yes, the bus came back for us, and we were thankful. However, lots of miscommunication on the tour operations.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations. While access to attractions such as Ford's Theatre may be affected by seasonal maintenance and operating schedules beyond our control, we understand how this can be disappointing. During the Independence Day holiday weekend, last-minute road closures and traffic restrictions also required operational adjustments, and we appreciate your flexibility. We're glad our team was able to reconnect with you, and we value your comments regarding communication as we continually work to improve the guest experience. Thank you for choosing to tour with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again under more typical circumstances.

Great Guide

Our tour was rescheduled due to road closures for the 4th activities, so we went at 8 am instead of 10. That wasn’t an issue but I was disappointed that Ford’s Theater was closed for maintenance. Our guide Sally, was very informative, and gave us detailed backstory on not only Lincoln, but other landmarks we passed or stopped at. She was lively and entertaining, and very accommodating! My 35 yr old daughter and 14 yr old granddaughter said they learned a lot from her!
