Del reino de los mitos a los fundamentos de la razón. ¡El increíble viaje de la Antigua Grecia de la fe ciega a la búsqueda de explicaciones para todo lo desconocido! Este no es el recorrido "turístico" habitual, sino más bien un paseo filosófico, entre los monumentos antiguos que proporcionan el mejor paisaje para ver esta increíble transformación. Los filósofos presocráticos nos dieron lo que puede considerarse como el único verdadero “descubrimiento” en la ciencia : que nuestro mundo puede ser comprendido a través de leyes naturales cuya identificación podría permitir a los humanos comprender su entorno, e incluso a sí mismos... ¡Exploremos juntos este fascinante cambio en la percepción humana y descubramos dónde estamos hoy!

Itinerario
Este lugar era el corazón de la ciudad de Atenas. Filósofos como Sócrates, Platón, políticos como Solón, Temístocles, Pericles, Tucídides, Sófocles, Aristófanes, que constituían el “Dream Team” de Atenas, atenienses prominentes y ciudadanos sencillos caminaron aquí y tuvieron discusiones y debates sobre todos los asuntos.
Daremos un paseo tranquilo por el colorido mercado de pulgas de Atenas con muchas tiendas de antigüedades y para turistas.
La Biblioteca de Adriano fue creada por el emperador romano Adriano en el año 132 d. C. en el lado norte de la Acrópolis de Atenas y en ese entonces era la segunda más grande del mundo.
El Ágora romana de Atenas se encuentra al norte de la Acrópolis y al este del Ágora antigua.
El edificio octogonal llamado Torre de los Vientos fue realizado por el astrónomo Andrónico de Kyrristos, en el siglo I a.C. y servía tanto como indicador de viento como de reloj, por lo que fue el “Big Ben” de Atenas y también la estación meteorológica de la ciudad. El reloj era solar pero en días nublados también había un mecanismo hidráulico que producía un sonido cada hora! Se considera la primera estación meteorológica.
Plaka es un pintoresco barrio de Atenas con pequeñas casas y pintorescas calles estrechas.
Pnyx Hill fue el primer parlamento del mundo. Este lugar ofrece una gran vista de la zona y es un gran lugar para ver la puesta de sol. También es gratis, como las mejores cosas de la vida.
Philoppapos Hill (o Hill of the Muses) ofrece las mejores vistas de Acrpolis y Atenas por la noche.

Excellent tour! Interesting and thought provoking introduction to The Phillisophers and Greek history.
Bery ingormational, interesting and educational tour given by a very knowledgeable and good speaker. Panos have a good tour with much information about the politics and democracy of ancient Greece, along with philosophies and myths of the ancient Greeks and how these philosophical thinkers affected modern thinking.

Very detailed tour covering Ancient Greece and the philosophers and historical people who created the principles of a democratic state. The walk included going up hill over looking Athens. The views were dramatic, especially the evening we went when there was a rainbow. The professor was a little long winded, but in general we really appreciated his knowledge and learned a lot.
We did the tour two days ago and it was the highlight of our trip! Panos was truly excellent. He injected so much fun and humour into the tour; we loved every second. We learned so much and have bookmarked his website for further reading when we get home. The tour covered the history of Athens and how philosophy, democracy and mythology shaped and continue to influence both ancient Athens and the modern world. Panos was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging throughout. We particularly loved the demonstration of Pythagoras’ cup - so much so that we bought one as a souvenir the next day! We saw so many hidden gems of Athens that we would’ve otherwise missed, such as the prison ruins where Socrates was executed and the ancient cemetery. This tour is a wonderful way to explore the city and its extensive, beautiful, complicated culture. Thank you Panos!
