¿Buscando ver a Darwin de manera diferente? ¡Explore Darwin y su rica historia de guerra con una visita guiada desde la parte trasera de un camión de la Segunda Guerra Mundial! En esta experiencia de 90 minutos, pasará por muchos de los sitios históricos más importantes de la ciudad, incluyendo Government House, la batería de East Point y el recinto militar, el hangar QANTAS de 1934, los tanques y túneles de almacenamiento de combustible de Stokes Hill, Fort Hill Wharf, y Darwin Harbor. Su guía le contará sobre la historia de Darwin desde los primeros exploradores hasta el bombardeo de la ciudad por los japoneses en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, y contará el ciclón Tracy en 1974 y más. This was a great tour not only for the war history of Darwin but the opportunity from the WW 11 vehicle to see different areas of the city. Opportunity to be dropped off at War museum and then picked up afterwards was perfect. Only downside was that it was at times difficult to hear the commentary. Certainly very knowledgeable on facts.
Great way of getting around Darwin and seeing sights related to its wartime history. Takes you to similar locations as the Big Bus does, but adds a little more depth and does go to some different spots as well. Great fun being in the truck, but would be even better if there was an app or similar that could pick up what was being said to amplify it with earphones for those who might struggle. The driver was incredibly knowledgable, reeling off their information without stopping. The crowd in the vehicle were separated from the driver, which does mean you cannot ask a question until you stop somewhere briefly. Overall, an exceptionally good tour that lasted over an hour, that I would happily do again.
OK... But no room to go to the museum, do disappointing
There is a description when you book the tour asking you to inform us whether you plan to go to the museum or not - if you don’t answer this at the time of your booking or you answer only on the morning of your tour then we can’t hold up up other bookings pending your decision so we make the call for you - no apologies- we take bookings as they come and can’t wait for an answer in order to confirm other booking requests. Whether or not you wish to include the museum in your tour affects subsequent tours - as we have to reserve a seat to pick you up after the museum if you are going there - if you can’t make the decision at the time of booking, then if it’s busy - then we go ahead and take the bookings of others that do make the decision and then you have to take what is available at the time.
It was an excellent tour. Well worth the money. The driver was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend it.
I very informative tour on several aspects of Darwin, past and present. Learnt a bit and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This tour was very informative. My grandfather served in Darwin during WW2, so it was meaningful to retrace the history.
