Adam has broad knowledge of the history of Chicago and Pedway, including some unique cities. It was lots of unique insights and information on pedway. I was expecting to see the architecture in the marketing material but it could be in the closed-off sections. Best part was seeing the stained glass collection of Navy Pier in early 2000 now publicly displayed in the pedway. Overall a good experience for those curious about the breadth of the Chicago pedway.
Heath did an excellent job telling us details about the ordeal as we walked for 2 hours seeing the interesting underground tunnels of Chicago. We came above ground in buildings that had history and beauty like Macy’s and War Memorial building on Michigan Ave.
Excellent tour with Adam exploring Chicago off the beaten path. Adam had a wealth of information on Chicago’s history, the city’s evolution and we got to see the city from a unique perspective. A really fun tour! Definitely add this to your list!
Our local tour guide Henry was excellent and very knowledgeable.
Henry is freaking awesome!! Great tour. He’s a super educated architect and knows structures and history. Really recommend this tour and it’s very affordable. Michael
Spencer was an amazing guide! He was very knowledgeable and knew so much about Chicago.
Spencer was nothing short of spectacular! He was fun and entertaining and really made us feel welcomed and safe in Chicago . Would definitely do again!
This tour included walking through old run down hallways and the tour guide telling us everything he didn’t like about the Pedway. It was nice to be in a cool space on a hot day but overall, it was boring and very long. I learned a few little things but not worth the time or money spent.
I'm sorry that our Pedway tour wasn't your cup of tea, Jenne -- and I know that having a small child with you on a 2-hour walking tour can make it feel much longer. For future guests, please read more reviews of this experience and note that even if it's not one person's particular jam, it's overall a very popular and fun tour for most guests. Please read our tour descriptions and if you have any questions, let us know before booking, and we can help direct you to activities more suited to your interests and tastes.
Adam shared a lot of great energy and interesting information on an otherwise cloudy day. He was very interested in answering questions (and even repeating things we forgot...), and navigated some unexpected "blips" along our path (not his fault) in a way that felt like we actually saw an even better version of the normal tour. He paced the walking well for our group, too. There are several times you go down/up 1 or 2 flights of stairs at a time spread out throughout the tour, so mobility in general is required. I believe that most of the stairs do not have elevator access, unfortunately. But that is because we learned that each section of the pedway is managed by the building it is located under (not the city), so there are inconsistencies (which is what makes it very interesting). I was the only non-local on the tour - I definitely feel I know more now than some native Chicagoans. Thanks, Adam!
Adam, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and patient with all our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about hidden treasures, and the library and glass domes were breathtaking. We’ll definitely book other tours through this group during our stay! Thanks again!
