Nuestro viaje comienza con un viaje en coche al corazón de la ciudad de Falmouth. Los lugareños son conocidos por "moda mek" con cualquier comida que haya en temporada, por lo que podrá probar una variedad de platos como ackee (cuando está en temporada) y pescado salado, cangrejo / langosta (cuando está en temporada), empanadas de ternera jamaiquinas, empanadas de pollo, pan de coco y sopa de res con guisantes rojos. A lo largo del recorrido hablaremos de la historia de la comida, su relevancia actual en nuestra sociedad y los ingredientes y procesos que utilizamos para cocinar. También haremos una parada en KFC para probar el hotspot de comida rápida estadounidense más popular que ha sido adoptado por el masivo jamaiquino. "Road crabby" es un término jocoso que se utiliza para describir el puesto improvisado que un vendedor ambulante jamaiquino utiliza para vender cangrejos recién capturados y sazonados. Estos vendedores, que suelen encontrarse a lo largo de las carreteras costeras o cerca de los pueblos pesqueros, montan puestos pequeños y rústicos o incluso simplemente extienden una manta al costado de la carretera para exhibir su botín.
Nuestra parada aquí le permitirá probar la famosa comida rápida jamaiquina que los lugareños disfrutan en el desayuno, el almuerzo o la cena. Las hamburguesas son un alimento básico en la dieta diaria de los jamaicanos.

We recently vacationed in Jamaica and stayed at a lovely resort, but we knew that we also wanted to book some off-resort excursions so that we could experience Jamaica from a locals perspective. Das was the perfect tour guide! We absolutely loved that this was a private tour and it was nice getting to be able to talk with Das one-on-one vs being lost in a crowd. 1. We visited KFC (which we were shocked about because we didn’t realize how big of thing KFC is in Jamaica) and WOW, let me tell you - one bite and it immediately took us back to the KFC in the US back in the 90s when their chicken used to taste like that. Soooooo sooooo good! 2. Next up with Juici Patties! Let’s just say I’ve had Jamaican patties before - but never anything that tasted like these. We got the chicken, beef, and the cheese - and they were all a 10/10. Zero notes!!!! Sooo good that I took some back to the resort to eat later in the day…..and they were just as good then as they were during our first bite. 3. Lastly, we went to Out A Road Crabby and even though we are now back in the U.S. I can still taste the food from this lovely local gem. The broth in the soup we had is something that I will never forget. The next time I’m in Jamaica - the moment I get off the plane, I’m going straight to Out A Road Crabby. Das, THANK YOU for taking such good care of us. We enjoyed our time with you and we wish you nothing but continued success. Everyone reading this - just go ahead and book this tour, you won’t be sorry!!!

Went in the food tour with Mama G and she took us to 3 wonderful places to eat local cuisine! She also gave us a tour of the sites.
