My friends and I shared a wonderful tour of Belfast with Jim, who - having lived through The Troubles - was an excellent and informative guide. The info he shared was balanced, fair, at times funny, and always moving. Take one of these taxi tours to learn what it was like living in Belfast at that time (and still today), and to see areas of the city that you'd likely pass by without knowing what took place there not so long ago. We should always try to learn from history, and "walking the ground" where it happened makes it all so much more understandable. Thank you, Jim and Xplore Belfast Murals, for giving us that opportunity in Belfast.
The Best city tour, I have ever been on. Please ask for Sean!! He will give you a good overview of the troubles. He can also talk about the troubles from experience. Hower whilst he may criticise the authorities on both sides of the divide. He could emphasise with the 3 participants; Soldiers, Catholics and Prtestant individuals.
Most informative on Belfast. Learned all about the divide and turf wars still happening in Ireland and the UK.
Very good experience! Jim was very knowledgeable about the troubles and current politics. Very informative & fun conversation! Had a blast💚
Sometimes you get to do something on holiday that stays with you- this experience knocked us for six. We laughed, we shed a tear or two and above all learnt so much about life in Belfast during the troubles thanks to our knowledgeable guide Jim and his detailed tour of the murals. It should almost be compulsory!
Great! I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t know nearly enough about this time in history. Jim was very Jim Jim was great!! informative and also generous in answering our questions. Sure, you can go to the murals and the peace wall yourself, but hearing the stories from someone who lived through it was very powerful. Highly recommended!
This was an incredible experience and very informative. Jim was our guide & he was not only entertaining and funny, but he knew what he was talking about. It was the perfect length for a tour, with a very cute surprise at the end. Jim is the BEST & my whole family and i really enjoyed ourself in his company.
We were lucky to have Jim as our driver. It was amazing to hear about the history of The Troubles from someone who has lived through them. He answered all the questions we had, and there were a lot. He was friendly, open and made the tour fun - though we all found it very emotional at times too. If you visit Belfast this is a ‘must do’ tour. Thank you Jim.
This was a highlight of our Belfast visit..John gave us a comprehensive account of 'The Troubles'... and beyond...detailed history of the Northern Ireland plight against the English. We would highly recommend this tour..particularly John as a guide
What I noticed George did which the other cabbie tour guides did not was bring photos of the area and its history.
