This is transportation to Harburg Castle and Rothenburg only. I feel like the castle could be skipped. You have to pay extra for the castle tour. They charged us each 12€ for the tour. It is only 8.50€ to get a guided tour from the castle itself. Im not very happy that we were over charged for the castle tour. You get about 3 hours of free time in Rothenburg and then it is a 3 hour bus ride back to Munich. They charged us for water and sodas also. I do not think this tour is worth the price we ended up paying. If you can get a train or public bus to this area, you are much better off.
It was lovely, the bus was comfortable. Lovely city but felt that it could be longer and that we could have skipped the castle visit. Volume of speaker could be less loud and that we could really do with less ‘recommendation’ on the way back as we just want to sleep in the 3 hours trip back to Munich.
Two great discoveries on this excursion; Johnny, our guide, gave us necessary and precise historical information. Our driver was also very friendly and played a nice little playlist for us during the return trip.
Thank you very much for your lovely review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed discovering both on our Romantic Road tour. It's wonderful to know that Johnny's historical insights and informative commentary enriched your experience, and we're equally pleased that our driver helped create such a pleasant atmosphere with the music on the journey back. Thank you for choosing Gray Line Munich. We hope to welcome you again on another unforgettable day trip through the beautiful regions of Germany.
Lovely day with Dragon and Melanie. Loved the day with so many special touches to make sure everyone was pleased. Loved all the quaint shops in Rothenburg ob Tauber.

It's wonderful to know that their thoughtful attention to every guest helped make the experience extra special. We're also glad you had the chance to explore the charming streets and unique little shops of Rothenburg ob der Tauber—it's truly one of Bavaria's most picturesque destinations. Thank you for choosing Gray Line Munich. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable day trip with us soon.
Wonderful excursion! We drove an hour from Munich to our first stop Harburg Castle & got a small intimate tour by one of the locals. Harburg is a very well preserved Medieval Castle with lots of history. It’s also a hotel with a grand ballroom for those who want to stay or celebrate a wedding or special occasion. Then we drove 2 hours to Rothenburg which is the most FAIRYTALE town! I have been all over Europe but Rothenburg is by far the most magical place. We had 3 hours to eat lunch & wander around town on our own. There are 3 churches, lots of hotels, a beautiful garden, lots of shops for clothes & trinkets, restaurants & ice cream stores. The Christmas Museum & Store is breathtaking! So many cuckoo clocks, carousels, nutcrackers & ornaments! There is something for everyone & I could’ve easily spent all day in Rothenburg! Then we drove back 3 hours back to Munich. Bus is really luxurious with comfy seats, tables, iPhone outlets & a bathroom. Demitiri our guide was super informative & Draagon our driver was awesome! For the price this tour is a really great deal. The only way to get to these attractions would be to get a rental car & drive 6 hours in one day! Wonderful day in a comfortable air conditioned bus .. totally worth it ! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you very much for your fantastic and detailed review! We're delighted to hear that you had such a magical day exploring Harburg Castle and Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It's wonderful to know that you enjoyed the unique atmosphere of Rothenburg, the comfort of our premium coach, and the opportunity to discover so many highlights at your own pace. We're especially pleased that Dimitri's informative commentary and Dragan's excellent driving helped make the experience even more memorable. We'll be sure to pass your kind words along to both of them. Thank you for your enthusiastic recommendation and for choosing Gray Line Munich. Knowing that our tour was one of the highlights of your European travels is truly the highest compliment we could receive. We hope to welcome you back on another adventure through Bavaria someday!
This tour was very interesting and the history of it was also fabulous. Dimitri and Draagon were a fantastic driver/tour guide combo. I liked that we had three hours of personal time on our own. So many tours do not allow enough time but this was plenty. My only regret is doing the tour on a Sunday because so many shops were closed.
Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the history of Harburg Castle and Rothenburg, and that having plenty of free time allowed you to explore at your own pace. It's especially nice to know that Dimitri and Dragan made such a great team and helped make your day both informative and enjoyable. We'll be sure to pass your kind words along to them. We completely understand your comment about visiting on a Sunday. While Germany's Sunday trading laws mean that many shops are closed, we're pleased that you were still able to enjoy the unique atmosphere and historic charm of Rothenburg. We hope to welcome you back again—perhaps on a weekday next time!
Excellent tour, the bus was very comfortable with excellent AC! The tour guide was very friendly which made the ride enjoyable.
Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your day on the Romantic Road, especially the comfort of our coach and its air conditioning during the journey. It's also wonderful to know that your guide's friendly personality made the trip even more enjoyable. We'll be happy to share your compliments with the team. We truly appreciate you travelling with Gray Line Munich and hope to welcome you on board again for another memorable day trip.
Harburg and the Castle was not what we were expecting. I wish that I knew this in advance. On the other hand Rothenburg was great city to visit and spend time in. It is the main attraction for this tour.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Rothenburg ob der Tauber and that it was the highlight of your day. We're sorry that Harburg Castle wasn't quite what you had expected. Every guest has different interests, and while some particularly enjoy exploring one of Germany's oldest and best-preserved medieval castles, others are drawn more to the charm and atmosphere of Rothenburg. We appreciate your feedback and are glad you were still able to enjoy such a memorable visit to one of Bavaria's most beautiful towns.
Our tour guide, Jaqueline, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed our visit to the Harburg Castle, and the town of Rothenburg. Despite being July, the Christmas store was a visit that made the entire trip worthwhile all by itself! And St. Jacob's church is well worth the 3.50 Euro admission fee. The stained glass windows and organ piping are amazing! We would definitely recommend this trip.
Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed discovering Harburg Castle and the charming medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It's especially rewarding to know that Jacqueline's knowledge and friendly approach made the day even more enjoyable. We love hearing that Rothenburg's famous Christmas Museum and Store and St. Jakob's Church were among the highlights of your visit. Thank you for your recommendation. We hope to welcome you back soon to discover even more of Bavaria with Gray Line Munich.
The castle was amazing and totally worth visiting. The Romantic Road part was nonexistent. It shouldn’t even be listed as part of the experience - false advertising- also the city of Rothenberg was cool to see because it is totally walled in, but there was not enough to do to spend over three hours there.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed visiting Harburg Castle and the beautiful medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. We're sorry to hear that the tour did not fully meet your expectations. The Romantic Road is Germany's most famous scenic holiday route rather than a single attraction, and our tour follows part of this historic route while combining visits to two of its most iconic destinations. We understand that preferences for free time vary from guest to guest. While some visitors would enjoy more time in Rothenburg, others appreciate the opportunity to experience both highlights within a single day from Munich. Thank you again for your feedback. We appreciate your perspective and are glad you were able to enjoy the highlights of your visit.
