Únase a un recorrido único que explora la historia y la cultura afroargentina, a menudo pasada por alto, dirigido por miembros de la comunidad local. Descubrirá las raíces africanas entretejidas en la estructura de los edificios, las historias e incluso el tango de Buenos Aires. Nuestro recorrido por el barrio histórico de San Telmo, descubriendo el rico legado de los afroargentinos desde la época precolonial hasta el activismo moderno que está remodelando la relación del país con la raza. En este recorrido a pie, exploraremos los antiguos barrios y viviendas del comercio de esclavos, así como la iglesia de San Telmo, la plaza Dorrego, la casa mínima y los conventillos. En el camino, conocerás la historia de los afroargentinos, así como el proceso de invisibilización de la herencia negra y el activismo que lucha por una Argentina antirracista. Itinerario
Los viajeros verán la casa más pequeña de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, donde conocerán el camino hacia la libertad y la organización de los afroargentinos después del fin de la esclavitud.
Haremos una parada en un lugar tradicional en el corazón del barrio colonial de San Telmo. Aquí tomaremos una copa y hablaremos de África antes de la colonización, así como del día a día de las personas que trabajaban en la casa.
Caminaremos por la plaza donde tiene lugar el mercado de antigüedades más famoso todos los domingos.
Uno de los más antiguos de la ciudad. Los trabajos se iniciaron en 1735 y bajo la expulsión de los jesuitas, la orden religiosa bethlemita continuó con el trabajo. También cuenta con un museo con piezas que datan de hace más de 200 años.

What an incredible and eye opening tour. I gained a perspective of the city I never knew existed. For anyone looking for a more nuanced view of Argentine history and how it shapes current life, you have to take this tour. Ekene is a great guide who is patient and kind.
This tour was fantastic! Met our awesome tour guide, Kim, at the cruise port and our wo derful adventure began wirh a drive through the city as Kim pointed out landmarks and places of interest. Her knowledge of the sites was outstanding. Really enjoyed the nice pace of our walking tour. Light lunch stop was included and we all enjoyed the delicious enpanadas, cheesy pizza, mint lemonade and Sangria. Very well planned with an outstanding guide!

An excellent experience in hearing and seeing Argentina African experience and culture. I was enlightened as to the correlation of North America past and present to the Argentina experience. Ekene was a delightful guide across the history of Afro-Argentine influence on Argentina. She was so clear in her storytelling, detailing what elements of African heritage permeate through this nation and its capital of Buenos Aires. It was the highlight of my trip, leaving me with so much pride and great stories to share. Highly recommend this experience, especially in the hands of Ekene.
It was an amazing tour with a very knowledgeable guide. We discovered a part of Argentinean history that is often neglected or denied. If you want to circumvent touristic clichés, this is the tour for you.

Karl was very friendly, personable and patient. Karl methodically guided my wife and I around key areas in the city and pointed out monuments and buildings with extensive histories. It was also great seeing how Karl interacted with individuals along our tour. We were able to learn a lot about Afro-Argentine history as we attempted to connect the dots regarding how the Afro-Argentine population decreased so significantly and almost completely in a 150 years and how it’s barely an afterthought. I recommend anyone with an interest in what happened to the Afro-Argentine community to take this tour.

Very good experience of having done this tour because it provided us with a lot of information about the Afro roots we have in the city of Buenos Aires. Excellent guide we got, Julia, very friendly and didactic with the children, who asked and learned many interesting and unknown things for everyone. I also recommend it because San Telmo always has surprises. The tour ends with a rich snack of cooked mate and homemade cupcakes at a bar in the area
