La protesta religiosa contra el régimen de Ngo Dinh Diem

Reliquia conmemorativa de la participación del tío Ho en el movimiento antiimpuestos en la Embajada Central, Hue En abril de 1908, hubo una protesta exigiendo una reducción de impuestos por parte de la gente de Thua Thien Hue. La protesta tuvo lugar el 9 de abril de 1908 y culminó el 11 de abril de 1908 cuando agricultores de 6 distritos se reunieron para rodear el Palacio de la Nunciatura para hacer demandas. El presidente Ho Chi Minh todavía era estudiante en ese momento, junto con otros estudiantes de Quoc Hoc que también se unieron al grupo de protesta contra los impuestos; El "tío Ho" utilizó sus conocimientos de francés para ayudar a la gente como intérprete. El Palacio de la Nunciatura ya no existe hoy, quedó completamente arruinado en 1945. Para recordar este lugar, que fue testigo de las primeras acciones patrióticas del presidente Ho Chi Minh, el Museo Ho Chi Minh Thua Thien Hue Thien Hue erigió un símbolo de Nguyen Tat Thanh ( El presidente Ho Chi Minh) participó en el movimiento antiimpuestos en 1908 para conmemorar.

9 cañones que los artesanos de Hue fundieron en el segundo año de Gia Long (1803). Nueve cañones están considerados como una de las obras de arte de bronce más valiosas. Los antiguos nueve cañones estaban colocados al pie de la Ciudadela Imperial, en la entrada de la Puerta Ngo Mon, la ciudad imperial de Hue. Durante el reinado del rey Khai Dinh, fueron trasladados a su posición actual.

Bem was a great travel guide on our trip to Hue! She did a great job sharing her knowledge of Vietnam's history, brought us to the local market, and we ended the trip at a very good local restaurant. She made sure to accommodate our friend who is a vegetarian. Make sure to order multiple beers!

Fascinating walk with Bem who explained much of Hue’s history from the VN perspective. There is much to learn. Would have liked more info about the Battle for Hue in ‘68. That aside it’s different to the usual tours of Imperial Hue, and provides much more context.

This tour is designed to give a broad “backbone” view of Huế’s history, from around 1310 to the present day. Within 2.5 hours, we aim to provide an overall understanding of how the city has evolved through different periods — including the French and American wars, — while also introducing local culture, the market, and everyday life. Because of the limited time, it isn’t possible to go into deep detail about every single historical event. Regarding the Battle of Huế in 1968: if you are particularly interested in this topic, we would highly recommend our Huế Imperial City Walking Tour. In that tour, we go inside the Citadel and explore in much more detail the areas that were heavily affected by the fighting during the Tết Offensive.
