Te encantará San José después de esta experiencia. Guiado por jóvenes biólogos descubrirás la naturaleza escondida en medio de la ciudad más grande de Costa Rica. Podrás experimentar con todos tus sentidos una vida silvestre que no hubieras imaginado que existiera a minutos del centro de la ciudad. Somos una organización llamada Oropopo Experience, que busca cambiar la forma en que se hace turismo en Costa Rica mientras apoyamos a jóvenes científicos, investigadores y emprendedores locales. Notas adicionales: ** De mayo a noviembre recomendamos reservar la franja de mañana, sin embargo, las tardes también son geniales. • El único recorrido a pie por la naturaleza en San José. • Explora a pie una de las últimas zonas verdes dentro de la ciudad con un biólogo local. • Ver, oler, saborear, tocar y escuchar la naturaleza. • Encuentre pájaros coloridos, plantas comestibles y una población de perezosos salvajes en el campus. • Un porcentaje de las ganancias se destina a Funga Conservation, una fundación sin fines de lucro. • El recorrido en grupos pequeños con un máximo de 10 personas garantiza una experiencia íntima

Itinerario
Visitaremos el Campus de la Universidad de Costa Rica, que alberga algunas de las áreas de bosque más grandes del Área Metropolitana de San José. En nuestra primera parada buscaremos aves residentes y migratorias, insectos increíbles y plantas y flores sorprendentes. Estaremos hablando de arte, historia, cultura indígena y, sobre todo, naturaleza. Luego, visitaremos el campus principal donde estaremos buscando perezosos que viven libremente y con suerte incluso veremos las dos especies diferentes que habitan en nuestro país. DESCARGO DE RESPONSABILIDAD: Este no es un centro de rescate ni un recorrido por el santuario de perezosos. No podrás tocarlos, si los encuentras, los perezosos se verán en su hábitat natural, lo que significa que la mayor parte del tiempo estarán durmiendo en los árboles. Aún así, nuestra experiencia es tu mejor opción en San José si eres un verdadero amante de la naturaleza. Este es un recorrido a pie de 2,5 horas, algunas partes estarán expuestas a la luz solar intensa. No es una caminata pesada, pero tenga en cuenta su condición física.

This was a wonderful experience! Priscilla is an amazing nature guide and the forest on the university is beautiful! We learned so much about the local birds, insects and even saw three sloths! Priscilla patiently answered everyone's questions and set up her telescope at each stop so we could see the wildlife up close. I got wonderful photos with just my iPhone. We were able to see the wildlife much better on this tour than the wildlife sanctuary we visited the next day. We are planning a return trip to Costa Rica next year and plan to go on this tour again. Such a great tour. Really really informative and friendly guide called Mary. We saw a great variety of animals. Including sloths and carpenter bees.
We had a few hours to spare in San Jose and were keen to see our first sloths. This trip didn’t disappoint. Rigo was excellent and he took us around the reserve in the university grounds. We saw both species of sloth, one mum had a baby. Highly recommended if you have a couple of hours to spare.
It was a marvelous window to the bioiversity of San José / University of Costa Rica. Our guide, Priscilla, was extremely patient, always helpful with enciclopedic knowledge, emotional about nature. We saw sloths, birds, insects, learned about plants and conservation. We ended at the Zoological Museum at UCR. I would do it again if I could.
Incredible experience with my family, my 8 and 6-year-old children enjoyed seeing the beautiful sloths =) 💜 learning about different insects and the vegetation, our guide Dariel explained everything in detail during the tour, his experience is evident, he was very kind. 100% recommended, we returned even more in love with the sloths💜😍

On our first day in Costa Rica rather than having a rest day we booked this tour and it was a great introduction. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We were a bit uncertain about doing a nature tour in the centre of the city but we saw loads of things (including sloths!) and learnt a lot.

Our guide was very kind and took the time to explain everything to my group. He accommodated me even though I was late due to bad traffic. I learned a ton of things in a short period of time and got to see the sloths! Our guide used a telescope so we could view the sloth better! I highly recommend booking this tour!
Guide was excellent. A recent college grad. Get to walk the university of Costa Rica and see some nice urban green areas. Saw both types of sloth.
