Comenzaremos el recorrido por la famosa Catedral de Palma, donde comenzaremos nuestro paseo por la zona, disfrutando de toda la maravillosa arquitectura e historia que esta gloriosa ciudad tiene para ofrecer.
Pasaremos por una de las estructuras más famosas dentro de la ciudad, "Estatua Es Foner" o "El Hondero", que se traduce como "The Swinger". Esta hermosa estructura fue donada por el escultor Jaume Mir en 1992. Jaume Mir fue uno de los escultores mallorquines más prestigiosos del siglo XX y su obra y rigurosa técnica es reconocida internacionalmente.
¡Seguiremos descubriendo el "Ciudad Vieja" de Palma paseando por estos hermosos jardines! "S´hort del Rei" que se traduce como "Los Jardines de los Reyes" situados bajo el Palacio de la Almudaina. En el siglo XIV esta zona tenía acceso restringido y estaba llena de árboles frutales, plantas, hortalizas y flores de colores. El jardín actual fue reformado en la década de 1960 por el arquitecto Gabriel Alomar. Alomar basó la renovación de este espacio en los tradicionales jardines andaluces. Hoy el jardín tiene cipreses, fuentes y un gran estanque. ¡Aprovecha la gran oportunidad de tomar fotos aquí y captura algunas imágenes para toda la vida!
Aquí tendremos la oportunidad de caminar por parte de las antiguas murallas romanas construidas para proteger la ciudad hace tantos años. ¡Tendrás las vistas espectaculares del Palacio de la Almudaina desde aquí y vistas de otras partes de la ciudad!
Una vez que bajemos de las murallas, nos detendremos para tomar fotos fuera de la Catedral de Palma (La Seu) y escuchar cómo se construyó el lugar de culto católico romano en el sitio de una antigua mezquita árabe. Luego, diríjase al interior para admirar sus vidrieras circulares y las características diseñadas por Gaudí. El artista modernista colorido, y a menudo controvertido, dejó su huella en el sitio, y se cree que su llamativo retablo es el punto culminante de la catedral. Ya que estás en nuestra visita guiada privada, no necesitas esperar en las largas colas que se acumulan en la catedral (¡muy largas!).
Una vez que hayamos terminado el recorrido por la hermosa catedral, podrás admirar la belleza del Palacio Real de La Almudaina, que data del siglo XIV. Es la residencia oficial de Sus Majestades los Reyes durante sus estancias en Mallorca. Junto con la Catedral de Palma, constituyen un hito de la capital de las Illes Balears. Un palacio que refleja los estilos artísticos que se han sucedido a lo largo de la historia de la isla.
Mientras seguimos paseando por el precioso casco antiguo de Palma te encontrarás con el Ayuntamiento de Palma, situado en la Plaza de Cort de Palma. Fue construido entre 1649 y 1680 por los arquitectos Pere Bauçá, Miquel Oliver y Bartomeu Calafat. Algunos de los elementos más destacados de su fachada son el balcón con siete ventanales, el Rellotge d'en Figuera (Reloj de Figuera) y el Banc del si no fos (Banco de si no te lo pierdes). El edificio en sí fue declarado Monumento Histórico-Artístico perteneciente al Tesoro Artístico Nacional por decreto de 3 de junio de 1931.
Mientras disfruta de las impresionantes vistas del casco antiguo de Palma y la arquitectura histórica, ¡eche un vistazo al olivo de The Cort! Este singular árbol, conocido como Olivera de Cort, fue plantado en 1999 desde la sierra de Tramuntana, como símbolo de paz y arraigo a la tierra. El Olivo de Cort está situado en plena plaza, justo enfrente del ayuntamiento. A pesar de la mudanza y su antigüedad, sigue dando frutos cada año.
¡Este es para los amantes del arte! Un edificio de visita obligada, por sus características. La decoración estilística de la fachada hasta el diseño interior muestra una fuerte influencia del modernismo catalán, especialmente algunas de las obras de Gaudí: ¡disfruta de todo su esplendor y saca la cámara para poder apreciar estos momentos para siempre!

A terrible experience. The tour guide was an irresponsible liar. She specified one meeting place after the tour and free time, but the bus arrived at a different location. We arrived at the meeting point indicated on the map 30 minutes before departure time. All of this company’s buses depart from the same location in Palma de Mallorca. For some reason, our bus left from a completely different place. The tour guide had our phone number but did nothing to contact us and warn us about these changes. Then she simply texted, “You weren’t there—sorry.” I regret the time we wasted… Do you think anyone even apologized on behalf of this company? NO. Think twice before buying tours from them. Wonderful “Spanish service” from this company and its guide.

Really good trip to get an insight into the old town of Palma and a really good understanding of the cathedral. We had Luis as our guide and he was very good with explanations, pace and keeping us in the shade where he could. Would really recommend.

arrived in plenty of time , tour was only 1 hour instead of the 1.30 as described. you can learn what we were told on the web. disappointed. on the other hand guide was very nice . though some time hard to understand though it was in English
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, we have to disagree with several of your statements because they are simply not accurate. The walking tour did not last one hour. It lasted almost the full 90 minutes as advertised. In fact, while the guide was still with your group at 15:08, sharing additional recommendations for restaurants and places to visit in Palma after the official tour had finished, your partner was so tired that he almost fell asleep twice inside the Cathedral. We have records confirming these timings. We also find it surprising that you state there was "nothing you couldn't learn on the web." Our licensed local guides provide historical context, stories, explanations and local recommendations that go far beyond what can be found by reading online. Finally, we would like to point out that before publishing this review you requested a full refund through Viator. After reviewing the case, Viator rejected your request because the tour was delivered as described. We could not find the location to meet. In hindsight in reading reviews, others had the same difficulty. Yet the tour operator has not made it easier despite this issue. Tried communicating with the tour guide via Viator messaging (only option available) Got one message and no response to meeting at another location as the tour was 1.5 hours long and we were messaging 7 minutes into the tour. Viator refuses to refund our money. Will never use them again. Tours by Local going forward. We have always heard directly from the tour guide and had a way to communicate directly with the tour guide.
Thank you for your review, although it does not accurately reflect what happened. On the day of your tour there were 62 participants in total, including your party of four. The other 58 guests found the meeting point, arrived on time and joined the tour without any difficulty. Your group was the only one that did not. If 58 guests successfully locate the meeting point and only one party misses the tour, it is difficult to argue that the problem was the meeting point itself. The meeting point information was updated this year and includes detailed directions, a map, written instructions and contact options. You also had the possibility to contact us before the tour if you had any doubts, which you did not do. Arriving 10-15 minutes early, as clearly requested on the voucher, would have provided plenty of time to resolve any uncertainty. What is also surprising is that your own messages show that you were not entirely clear about the product you had booked. You wrote to us: "Ok. Requesting a refund as we had no way to communicate. And we were under the impression this tour was just for four." This was never advertised as a private tour. It is clearly described as a shared group tour. The timeline also contradicts your account. Your first message arrived at 11:37, after the tour had already started. We replied to you, and at 11:51 you wrote: "We are trying a different direction to see if we find you. Give us a few minutes." This shows that more than 20 minutes after departure you were still looking for the meeting point and were not close to the group. You mention Tours by Locals as an alternative, but omit the fact that comparable private tours there cost much more. They are completely different products. Finally, Viator reviewed all the information and rejected your refund request because the facts were clear: the tour operated normally, the meeting point instructions were provided, and 58 guests plus your own party's four places were accounted for, with only your group failing to arrive at the designated location on time. We understand that missing the tour was frustrating. However, it is unfair to blame the guide, the company or the tour itself for a situation that resulted from your group not reaching the meeting point as instructed. — The Nofrills Excursions Team
