BE A Local es un tour a pie enfocado en mostrar y enseñar sobre aspectos únicos y peculiares de La Paz, y los jueves y domingos de la ciudad de El Alto. Enseñándonos todo lo que podemos desde una perspectiva local, y llevándote a las rutas y callejones invisibles de esta dos alta metrópolis. Ser un lugareño te lleva a través de la ciudad de La Paz, explorando caminos donde no muchos turistas van y ven. Situado en el casco viejo de La Paz, o casco antiguo, es una animada plaza enmarcada por algunos de los edificios políticos más importantes de la ciudad.
Está ubicada estratégicamente en el centro de La Paz y es uno de los mercados de alimentos más grandes y de diseño único de la ciudad.
Uno de los monumentos más importantes e históricos de La Paz es la iglesia de San Francisco, también conocida como la basílica de San Francisco.
"¿Tiene fetos de llama secos?" "¿Qué tal un hechizo para castigar a un amante infiel?" "¿Tal vez algo para ayudar a paliar el mal de altura?" Para aquellos que sufran de una enfermedad, que busquen riqueza o que quieran vengarse de un compañero infiel, el Mercado de Hechicería o Mercado de las Brujas de La Paz es el lugar ideal para tomar una variedad de pociones, plantas medicinales, hechizos y consejos espirituales.
Situado a pocos metros de la tranquila plaza de San Pedro, se encuentra una de las instituciones más notorias y corruptas del mundo, la cárcel de San Pedro. Lo que hace a San Pedro tan interesante son las condiciones en las que viven cerca de 1.500 de los criminales más duros de Bolivia. Se trata de una sociedad en sí misma, ya que la prisión tiene tiendas y restaurantes regentados por reclusos, mujeres y niños que viven voluntariamente con familiares encarcelados e, paradójicamente, algunos de los laboratorios de cocaína más activos del país.
Los cuidados jardines, las estatuas, los bancos del parque que flanquean el medio camino entre el tráfico de vehículos que va y viene del centro de la ciudad eran bastante bonitos. El Prado también está rodeado de enormes edificios de oficinas que albergan muchos restaurantes.
Avenida Camacho: Uno de las avenidas más importantes y tradicionales de la ciudad de La Paz, situada en el centro. El recorrido comienza en la plaza del Obelisco y termina en el antiguo Zoológico Municipal, también conocido como el parque de los Monos. Esta avenida fue nombrada en homenaje al ex presidente de la República, Eliodoro Camacho.

The best walking tour I have ever done! Such interesting information with pictures and video’s shown as examples as well. Charlie explained everything very well and kept our attention the whole time. Visited both iconic places of La Paz as well as local spots I wouldve never found myself. Must do in La Paz!

Honestly was amazing. 10/10 would recommend. I was very lucky and no one had signed up so it was just me and the guide - Charlie. Charlie was unreal, he showed me his favourite empanada place when I said I was hungry and hungover, told me all these amazing stories and history while still keeping it interesting and engaging. Charlie definitely made the tour so ask for him if possible but still the walking tour really explains the amazing history of La Paz that you wouldn’t get if you didn’t search for it.

You walk almost all the important places of La Paz and its histories but the tour in some parts should be more interactive with the locals.

Charlie provided an informative and entertaining walking tour of La Paz that included many of the interesting locations in this unique and fascinating city.
