I requested a refund for not being able to access the tour, and they denied it.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you felt frustrated. After reviewing the full support conversation and follow‑up messages, we can confirm that the download link and setup steps were provided immediately after purchase and again during our back‑and‑forth correspondence. The tour was successfully accessed on your device later that same day, and once the correct app was installed, everything was functioning normally. We understand that technical setup can sometimes be confusing, and we’re always here to guide guests through the process whenever needed. We appreciate your comments and will continue working to make our instructions as clear and easy to follow as possible.
Viatours was really easy to set up and use on the day with great instructions. However a major flaw was it didn’t say whether the sights we were visiting were actually open or not. We visited on a Monday in the afternoon and assumed (as we were not told to the contrary) that everything should have been open for us to visit. But major landmarks were closed. This definitely affected the quality of our viewing
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback - we’re glad to hear the setup and instructions were easy to follow. Our Downtown Houston experience is a self‑guided walking audio tour, designed to share stories and history as you pass by landmarks. The narration automatically plays as you approach each location, but the experience doesn’t include entry into buildings or attractions, and the route doesn’t require anything to be open in order to enjoy the content. We appreciate you highlighting your experience, and we’ll take a look at our listing to ensure this is as clear as possible for future guests. Thanks again for exploring Houston with us.
The sites and buildings shown in the tour were very interesting and I learned things, and saw things, that otherwise I would not have seen. The walk was all on the flat and very easy. It was a great way to get my steps up for the day. Unfortunately, unlike other apps I have used for self driven walking tours, this app disappointed as it did not recognise my location and I had to manually play each recording. And often, when I stopped to take a photo and went back to the app, which I didn’t close, the app went back to the main screen and I had to get back into the tour. This let the experience down for me.
Thank you for taking the Downtown Houston tour and sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the sights and information along the way, even though the autoplay feature didn’t work as expected. On some devices, location or permission settings can affect how the GPS triggers function, and your notes are helpful as we continue improving the experience. We appreciate you joining us for the walk.
It was a nice tour. We got to see many sites at our own pace. Had lunch at one of the sights (the Finn bldg).. many options and so good! This time of year was perfect.... not to hot or cold. Got our steps in for sure... 7 miles!
Thank you so much for joining us on the Sights of Downtown Houston tour and for sharing your experience. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed exploring at your own pace - and that the Finn Building lunch stop was a hit. This really is the perfect time of year to wander, and it’s and it’s an excellent way to get your steps in! 👣
I don’t have a memorable experience. It’s $20 dollars that won’t be seen again. The address given wasn’t near the staring location so the app wasn’t used.
We're sorry to hear you chose not to use the app, Greg. Although a specific street address is not provided for the starting location (Kellum-Noble House) it is clearly shown on the route map for easy navigation. If you would like to request a refund, please contact us at info@tripvia.tours.
We walked the ground and saw the city, both from its humble inception time, some of the buildings that shaped it's culture, to the present glory of it many sky scrapers today. We saw the people, including the many who call the streets home, we spoke to some who are proud to live here and work in such a dynamic place. The Tour was memorable, but be ready for a lot of walking and standing. If you aren't able to hike for 4 miles on flat ground, you may be hurting at the end of this tour. Also the software provided is great and has a few automation features to make it all simple to follow, but it doesn't work all the time and we ended up having to control it's features manually and at the end were able to complete the tour okay.
We’re thrilled our audio tour added value to your visit. Your great review is much appreciated!

Nice visit. The walking routes between each stage were not too long and the audio explanations of the monuments were very interesting; Easy to follow directions to the next point. The time for the visit was well estimated. A great way to discover Houston! To do.
