La Arena, construida en el primer siglo, es un anfiteatro romano al aire libre que todavía está en uso. Con capacidad para 30000 personas, los conocedores de la música vienen a Verona para disfrutar de óperas y conciertos de música pop.
La famosa plaza, rodeada por elegantes palacios renacentistas, asume funciones políticas y administrativas aún durante el día, pero también es el lugar elegido por la multitud de la universidad durante la hora feliz.
Estas notables tumbas funerarias conmemoran a la familia Scaliger que gobernó Verona en los siglos XIII y XIV. El monumento más representativo del arte gótico, las tumbas se colocan dentro de un recinto de rejas de hierro forjado decoradas con un motivo de escalera, en referencia al nombre de la familia della Scala, que significa "de la escalera" en italiano.
Esta es la razón por la cual la mayoría de los turistas visitan Verona, para visitar y escuchar una de las historias de amor más románticas y trágicas escritas por Shakespeare. De hecho, se inspiró para su famosa obra de una historia real de rivalidad familiar, amor prohibido y peleas, todo lo cual ocurrió en Verona durante el siglo XIII.
La Piazza delle Erbe, originalmente un foro romano, está rodeada de animados cafés y algunos de los edificios más suntuosos de Verona. Si está allí durante la semana (de lunes a viernes), también tendrá la oportunidad de hacer algunas compras, hay un mercado de frutas y verduras en la mañana.

Do not book with this tour operator. The guide did not show up at the meeting point and when we contacted them and Viator also contacted them we were asked to wait as somebody would come and they were getting in touch with the guide. After 50 minutes and no show we gave up waiting. Thankfully we are getting a full refund. Not impressed.
The tour was fantastic! Our guide Marco was so enthusiastic about Milanese history you couldn’t help but be as excited as him. Couldn’t recommend enough.
This walking tour completely exceeded my expectations. Priscilla brought the history of her city to life with her energy, humor, sometimes song (lol) , extensive knowledge and great visual examples. I had no real knowledge of Verona (other than from Shakespeare) so I was so incredibly surprised to learn of its colorful history and how that history shapes the physical buildings around you. I was grateful that the group size was smaller and we weren't covering an extensive amount of distance. Each stop was long enough to actually learn about it, take a photo and just enjoy before the next stop. Priscilla was an excellent tour guide, she was easily able to answer off the cuff questions and clearly loves what she does. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to learn about this beautiful city and getting a good introduction for later exploration. 10/10!
We did the City Walkers tour of Milan with Marco. His enthusiasm, depth of knowledge and love for his city was amazing. He managed to keep his group (platoon) engaged for the duration of the tour
Loved it! Fun and informative city walk tour. Great stories about the city's history, people and important sites. Marco, our guide, was super knowledgeable and very patient. You will learn things that are not in any boring travel book or blog. He will also give some great tips about places to see and free things to do during the rest of the trip.
We did the free walking tour. Marco was our guide and he was amazing. He had a fantastic attitude, was funny and shared so much information about the history of Milan. I learned so much. We saw places I would’ve otherwise missed. I highly recommend this tour. At the end of the tour he even had a map showing places he recommends to visit and we’re invited to take a photo of the map. He also shared why those places should not be missed.

The tour went for 3hrs but was interesting throughout. Saw lots of sites around the city that I would not have seen without the guide. Maurizio was great!
