Punta Cana: Saona Island Catamaran Open Bar / Food Hotel Pickup

Booking with Viator was the easy part and have used you before, but this time didn’t work out so well. The tour operator didn’t confirm with me until the same morning of the tour, also very late, and then couldn’t get through the gates of the hotel, so we couldn’t go on the to our. Postponed until the next day, told us to meet the gates at 7.15am and waited half hour, no one came. Then we went back to the hotel. They tried to call me 45 mins later and the hotel had to convince them to come back for us. It was also my 50th birthday. The trip after that ordeal was fab though

Terrible experience Spent most of the day sitting on a bus in random car parks with no communication from the organisers about what was happening. The whole thing was a shambles — complete free-for-all when it came to which boat we were supposed to be on. The beach we eventually got to was nice, but that made up only a tiny fraction of the day. Overall, it felt like a complete waste of a day on our holiday. Would strongly advise others to avoid this trip.

DO NOT BOOK!!! To start we were told to meet outside of the gate of our hotel because the driver was not allowed beyond the security gate...that should have been our first red flag to abort the trip. Second red flag was our driver was over 30 minutes late and arrived in a janky van falling apart. I booked the trip on Viator and the description said we would have an English speaking tour guide, which we did not, spoke no English which only added to the fear and confusion. Description also said nothing about the 3 and 1/2 to 4 hour ride picking up people in the middle of downtown stopping at gas stations with multiple people sticking their head in the vehicle, which felt terribly unsafe and scary. Finally got on the highway to get to the boats and STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY to pick somebody up, another red flag. Every single toll he tried to get a free toll pass and we would have to back up and have the cars move to go through and pay. Que full on panic mode. The swimming hole was amazing. We were kind of traumatized and couldn't really enjoy the trip. Island was very crowded and BBQ buffet was not great. Asked how much the photos were and they lied saying it was included. Tried to charge us $350 for 20 photos. As a mother it was absolutely terrifying and I have cancelled all remaining activities because of it. Save your money and soul...do not book with Jhoraji. We had no choice to get back in the same vehicle and asked him to drop us off at the airport. Thankfully he said yes and we booked a

I have to say I’ve done this excursion before with a different operator and it was great, this time it started off OK until we got to the island and I realized that it was 10 times busier than it was the last time we were there and then as we started to approach the Catamaran to return realized that there were too many boats pulling up to the catamaran and I expressed there are too many people and I asked how many it held and he said 70 there were over 100 people on the catamaran we could not move get a drink enjoy it was terrible we did not get home till 830 at night because it took so much time getting all these people on and off the catamaran as there is there is no dock and they refused to even give me half my money back not only was it unsafe on a normal day but this is during Covid they said we finished the tour so I will not get refunded I’m not sure how they expect me to be left in the middle of the ocean I had no choice but to finish it but I wouldn’t of if I had the option m.save your money and enjoy the beach

Everything was great until the catamaran. Way too many people we had over 96 people on a catamaran. You couldn’t move we were stuck on the front edge. The staff and all the tours were absolutely amazing, our tour guide jumped in and found star fish to show us, lunch was incredible and the views were breathtaking. If we ever went again we’d ask to to back to the main land on the speed boat, and skip the catamaran, we got a picture on the ropes when 2 boats of people had already left.

Everything was great however driver did not speak any English which made it hard to communicate. This kept us on edge because he didn’t understand us and we did not understand him. He appeared to be frustrated just like we was frustrated. I think the biggest thing of it all is being promised English translation and coming into a situation where he didn’t understand us made it very hard to really enjoy the experience. Thank goodness for another English speaking person on the bus who helped with communication but once he got off we had to fend for ourselves. So happy we were able to eventually get back to the resort can’t imagine what would have happened if we didn’t make it back. Outside of that we had great time at the island and the catamaran boat was amazing.

The natural pool was amazing, the hosts where always making sure you were comfortable. Great trip! Recommended.

Amazing tour!! The color of the sera was amazing and I did not expect to see starsfish!! Bring your own snorkelling équipement to see them properly!!

They have a very good Service, enjoy the excursion to Saône Island, I recommend them 100% and would definitely book with them again
