Pueblos mágicos Ajijic // Tlaquepaque y Chapala
Descripción
En este recorrido de apreciación del paisaje, visitaremos Ajijic, pueblito mágico y pintoresco de calles de piedra, coloridas casas y arte urbano que lo elevan a un destino turístico de excelencia, donde apreciaremos la belleza del lago, degustaremos bebidas prehispánicas y veremos a las tejedoras de telar. Continuaremos en Chapala pueblo para más caminata y compra de artesanías si así lo desean, finalmente terminamos en Tlaquepaque para comer y disfrutar de las galerías de arte y antiguas casonas.

Itinerario
Salimos de GDL y manejemos aprox. 1:30 horas. Ajijic es uno más de los pueblos a la orilla del lago de Chapala los cuales gozan de un excelente clima. Aqui hacemos una caminata por el malecón donde hablaremos de la historia del lugar y costumbres. Continuamos hacia la plaza principal para conocer lo más representativo del pueblo como la parroquia de San Andrés, la plaza de artesanías y el muro de los muertos. Terminamos y salimos hacia Chapala.
El trayecto será de 45 minutos aprox. Al llegar, iniciaremos una caminata y el guía les explica sobre la historia de Tlaquepaque, después visitamos varias galerías de arte, empezando con la de Sergio Bustamante, caminamos para visitar las principales atracciones como el parián de Tlaquepaque y finalmente escogemos un restaurante con opción de mariachi o no para finalizar este recorrido de pueblos mágicos
Después de manejar 20 minutos de Ajijic llegaremos a Chapala. Aquí el guía les hablará de la importancia del lago y les dará una reseña histórica sobre el lago más grande de México y les dará tiempo libre para caminata en el malecón donde podrán disfrutar de los antojitos y bebidas típicas así como comprar recuerdos en el tianguis de artesanías. Finalmente, visitamos la casa de la cultura que es la antigua estación del ferrocarril donde veremos una exhibición de objetos prehispánicos, exhibiciones temporales de arte y una vieja locomotora.

This was amazing! It was all day and we got to see and experience life like a local. Daniel has so much knowledge about the towns and their history as well as the people. He shares the best places to eat and get true local goods. He offers time to explore if you choose, too. It’s a must see!
The tour guide is the best. He knows everything there is to know about also the places we went. He's sincere, honest, and really goes out of his way to make you feel at home. He pays homage to the local artisans and encourages supporting the locals. He definitely shows you all the ins and outs and the secret local treasures. You'll be lucky if he's your guide.

I am so happy, and fortunate, to have had the good luck of finding Daniel for our first trip to Mexico! We enjoyed him so much on our first day trip to learn about the Guachimontones and visits to Tres Mujeres and Tequila Town that we booked a second tour with him. This time we explored the beautiful towns of Ajijic, Chapala, and Tlaquepaque. He knocked it out of the park again! We had a full day learning all about expat life in Ajijic as we walked through the beautiful town meeting locals, visiting many shops, and exploring this magical space. Daniel was very patient as we stopped and talked to different people along the way, never wanting to hurry or rush us. Next we took the short drive over to Chapala and learned more about the ecosystem of the lake, mountains, and town, as well as some of the history of The Virigin of Zapopan and the relation to Lake Chapala. Our last stop was the beautiful town of Tlaquepaque which had many shops, galleries, and restaurants. If you get the chance, have lunch or dinner at Casa Luna - it was AMAZING. The food and the atmosphere are both *chef's kiss*! If you are looking for tours in English, you cannot go wrong with Daniel. His communication during the booking process was excellent. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel which was very convenient. You can quickly tell he enjoys what he does. He is passionate about the history, culture, and people of Mexico and genuinely loves sharing this information with those in his care. I honestly feel like we've made our first friend in Mexico!!
