Viaje privado al monasterio de Bachkovo y la fortaleza de Assen.
Descripción
Desde Plovdiv nos dirigimos hacia las montañas Ródope pasando por la bonita ciudad de Assenovgrad. Cerca veremos los restos notables de la fortaleza del rey Iván Assen, un sabio gobernante del Segundo Reino Búlgaro. Allí encontraremos una antigua iglesia que data del siglo XIII pintada con algunas piezas auténticas de iconografía, así como la inscripción en piedra tallada por el rey Ivan Assen. A continuación nos adentramos en las montañas Ródope hacia el pintoresco monasterio de Bachkovo. El claustro es el segundo más grande de Bulgaria, fundado en 1083 y uno de los lugares más sagrados de la historia búlgara. Podemos parar en el camino si lo deseas. Si eres el único reservado para ese día, el tour es solo para ti. Tenga en cuenta que el número máximo de personas que pueden unirse es 6

Dentro del monasterio visitaremos la iglesia principal de la Virgen María construida en 1604 donde se guarda un valioso icono de la Virgen María del año 1310. Según la leyenda, este extraordinario icono hace maravillas. Adjunta a la iglesia de la Virgen María veremos la Iglesia de los Arcángeles que data del siglo XII. El refectorio del monasterio es otra joya del complejo que conserva coloridos murales de 1643. Junto con el fresco del Juicio Final, seremos testigos de las imágenes de algunos santos monjes, filósofos y escritores antiguos como Sócrates, Aristóteles, Diógenes y muchos más. El mural panorámico en la pared exterior del refectorio representa una vista aérea del monasterio con todos los edificios circundantes en la época de la pintura, 1846.
Cerca veremos los restos notables de la fortaleza del rey Iván Assen, un sabio gobernante del Segundo Reino Búlgaro. Allí encontraremos una antigua iglesia que data del siglo XIII pintada con algunas piezas auténticas de iconografía, así como la inscripción en piedra tallada por el rey Ivan Assen. La entrada es de 4 lv para adultos y 2 lv para niños.

It was a nice drive out of Plovdiv to visit an historic monastery and ruins of a fortress. The drive & sightseeing can be done in 2 to 3 hours max.
Great guild and a great time. The views were so beautiful and we had plenty of time to see it all. Definitely recommend!
Great trip - lovely sites, really beautiful. The monastery reminded me of Rila but more intimate. The fortress is steep but if you’re fit you’ll enjoy the church and surroundings. Lovely frescos and icons

Me and my husband spent some wonderful hours of the day visiting Bachkovo Monastery and Asen's Fortress. The monastery felt so peaceful and full of history - I could've stayed there for hours. When we arrived at Asen's Fortress we admired the stunning views. Definitely make your way to the top — the stairs only look scary, but they’re really not that bad! Just a short drive om Plovdiv, but it felt like a different world. Our driver made the trip even more fascinating with his stories. It's totally worth it!

Our guide was nice and polite but didn’t explain much about the fortress and church that we visited. We wish we would have learned some of the history of these amazing spots.
