El Gran Palacio fue construido junto con la fundación de Bangkok en 1782 cuando el rey Rama 1 ascendió al trono y fundó una nueva dinastía. El Gran Palacio es muy importante ya que solía ser el paladio del estado. Fue utilizado tanto para la residencia real como para el centro administrativo del país en el sistema de gobierno de monarquía absoluta. Hoy en día, el palacio se utiliza solo para ceremonias. La planta arquitectónica de este palacio era casi idéntica en cada detalle al Gran Palacio de la antigua capital de Ayutthaya (hace unos 600 años) porque el Rey quería recrear la gloria de la ciudad como lo era en el pasado. Así que fue completamente construido por primera vez en estilo tradicional tailandés. Sin embargo, en varios períodos, las influencias de otras naciones afectan a la arquitectura en Tailandia en diferentes reinados como los elementos chinos introducidos por el rey Rama 3 a principios del siglo XIX y el estilo de construcción occidental introducido por el rey Rama 5 a finales del siglo XIX.

Excellent way to see the major sights of Bangkok. There's a lot to see and a lot to learn. Our guide was organised, he made the structure of the day clear, and took great photos of us all. He also suggested an extra activity (long tail boats) that worked brilliantly.

Our guide, Belle, and driver, Tu, were amazing!!! They worked really well as a team efficiently getting us from place to place with little to no friction. Belle literally had friends everywhere, especially in all of the strategic places that allowed us to get some special treatment and got us to the attractions more easily! She knew the fastest way to walk from place to place. She also knew EXACTLY where to stand and where the best pictures would be! As Belle said, she’s a photographer first and tour guide second. She was also very knowledgeable about the history and importance of each of the items/places we were seeing/visiting. Tu was usually waiting for us when we got done with an attraction, ready to move on to the next. He even had cold water and cold, disposable wet towels for us after each stop to help cool us down from the Bangkok heat!!! There is really no better way to see the Grand Palace, Temple of the Reclining Buddha and Temple of Dawn!

We had a good day with Lake. She was friendly, patient, and helped us understand a bit more about Thai culture. The temples were stunning, especially the colorful details at the Grand Palace and Wat Arun. The service was good and everything was arranged well.
Bow made the day feel easy and comfortable. She helped us with tickets, where to walk, and where to stand for photos. The palace area had a lot of detail, and the big Buddha was much larger than I expected. The last temple had a nice view and a different style. It was a good Bangkok experience.
I have seen a few temples in Thailand already, but this tour still felt worth it. Vee explained the difference between the palace area, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun, so it did not feel like seeing the same thing three times. The Grand Palace felt more formal and royal, Wat Pho felt more peaceful, and Wat Arun had its own style near the river. It was a solid day and not difficult to enjoy.
We visited on a cloudy day, but it actually made the pictures turn out really nice. The Grand Palace had a strong royal feeling, with big buildings, painted walls, and Thai-style roofs everywhere. Poppy knew a few corners where the background looked less crowded, so we got better photos than expected. Wat Pho was also worth seeing, especially the Reclining Buddha. Wat Arun felt different again, more open and great for taking pictures by the river.
I had seen pictures of the Grand Palace before, but being there felt very different. The colors and gold details were much brighter in person. Donut helped explain the main history and also told us where we could take good photos. Wat Pho was my favorite because the Reclining Buddha was really impressive. Wat Arun was beautiful too, especially from close up.
I came with my parents, and this tour worked well for us. Bow was patient and helped explain the places in easy English. My mother loved the Grand Palace, and my father liked Wat Arun because it looked different from the other temples. There was some walking, but it was manageable.
