El recorrido empieza en la única catedral construida bajo tierra del mundo, ubicada hasta 180 metros debajo de la tierra, es una mega estructura impresionante en donde el ingenio para construir una mina de esta envergadura se combina espectacularmente con la visión artística del viacrucis cristiano y la construcción de un templo religioso que integra un gran trabajo de escultura e iluminación. Continuaremos el recorrido viajando hacia un tesoro escondido entre la naturaleza nativa de la sabana de Bogotá. En lo más alto, en medio de las montañas, se encuentra la laguna sagrada de Guatavita, lugar donde nace una leyenda ancestral: El Dorado.

El recorrido empieza en única catedral construida bajo tierra del mundo, ubicada hasta 180 m debajo de la tierra, es una mega estructura impresionante en donde el ingenio para construir una mina de esta envergadura se combina espectacularmente con la visión artística del viacrucis cristiano y la construcción de un templo religioso que integra un gran trabajo de escultura e iluminación. Al rededor de la ciudad de Bogotá se asentaron civilizaciones ancestrales, y de una de ellas se origina una leyenda que ha trascendido el tiempo: El Dorado. Una parte importante de piezas construidas en oro puro de esta cultura se encuentra en el Museo del Oro en Bogotá. Podrás elegir si almorzar en Guatavita o Zipaquirá.

Toda la catedral esta construida bajo el depósito de roca salina más grande del mundo.
Visitarás el singular pueblo de Guatavita en el vehículo, pero realmente conocerás su “versión nueva”, ya que la “original” fue inundada para ser reconstruida, esta fantástica historia te la relatará uno de nuestros guías expertos mientras caminas y contemplas sus las calles empedradas y las edificaciones coloniales.
Continuaremos el recorrido viajando hacia un tesoro escondido entre la naturaleza nativa de la sabana de Bogotá, en medio de sus montañas y su vegetación, en lo más alto en medio de las montañas encontrarás la laguna sagrada de Guatavita, sitio que se hizo legendario gracias a las ofrendas de oro realizadas por la cultura Muisca, una población precolombina de la cual escucharas más durante nuestra travesía.
Para finalizar, de regreso podrás disfrutar de la vista asombrosa que nos deja el embalse del Tominé.

This was an exceptional experience, from the pickup to the drop-off at the hotel. At all times, Jhovanny and Christian were very kind, respectful, and attentive. They truly demonstrated a wealth of knowledge at both locations: the Sacred Lagoon of the Cacique of the Muyskas community of Guatavita and the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá. I highly recommend their guidance and the narrative they provide about these places.
We had a very good experience with this private tour to the Salt Cathedral in Zipaquirá. From the very beginning, our guide, German, was impeccable: extremely punctual and a very careful and safe driver. The tour started with a tour of the historic center of Zipaquirá before going to the Cathedral. After visiting the Cathedral, we went to a local restaurant where we had the opportunity to taste delicious traditional Colombian food. The tour was very good and the fact of being private made all the difference for us to do things at our own pace. We recommend!
From the purchase experience, Nomadas team was very attentive to put together a special tour as we could not climb Guatavita lagoon, so we did something specially built for our interests and possibilities. Guide Laura was excellent: knowledge and very careful during the tour to make the best experience and get the most for the whole time. Absolutely recommended!

Our private tour to Laguna Guatavita and Cathedral Sal Zipaquirá was terrific. Our guide, David, from Nomadas Colombia Travel, is a wonderful storyteller, and he provided a great explanation of the sites. He is kind and patient too. David knew the good spots for eating, including a stop for arepas and fresh hot corn on the cob, which tasted like popcorn. His driver was lovely too. Highly recommend.

The whole day was great. David is a great guide, very knowledgeable and his English is excellent. Alex is an excellent and careful driver. Both David and Alex are kind, considerate and funny. And the Colombian bbq joint they took me to for lunch was great. Try the Verdi. You won’t regret it.
