Esta pequeña ciudad, ubicada aproximadamente a 50 minutos en automóvil de Roma, alberga la Villa Adriana (la villa de Adriano) y la Villa d'Este, ambas declaradas Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO y obras maestras de la opulencia y deleite. Su guía privado le dirá cómo la "Antigua Versalles", la Villa de Adriano, estaba cubierta de madera y vegetación silvestre, una vez abandonada tras el declive del imperio romano, y cómo se reciclaron y utilizaron los distintos mármoles para construir otros complejos. Adriano fue el emperador más viajado, así como arquitecto aficionado, y la villa está llena de diseños innovadores basados en lugares icónicos que había visitado en todo el imperio. Valentina is a great tour guide! She has a true passion for art history and architecture. Her English is also very good, which is important when taking a tour in a foreign country. Our driver, Paolo, was very professional, friendly, and punctual! My family and I have been to Rome many times, so we were looking for an off the beaten path excursion. We were so fortunate to have found this tour of Hadrian’s Villa and Villa d’Este. Both sites remain hidden gems of Roman history, art, and architecture and are underrated. Hadrian’s Villa (Villa Adriana), as the name suggests, was built by the Emperor Hadrian. He is best known for Hadrian’s Wall. Hadrian’s Villa is a remarkable example of early Roman architecture, and Villa d’Este is a testament to the beauty of Renaissance architecture and the ingenuity of Renaissance engineering. The gardens and especially the many fountains of Villa d’Este are truly magical. If you and your family are looking to experience Roman architectural marvels other than the Colosseum and Pantheon, I’d recommend that you take this tour. There is a lot of walking though, but you and your family will not be disappointed!

Except for being expensive, our tour guide and driver were exceptional. It would have been more reasonable if it included a light snack since it was 6 hrs altogether.
The tour guide and driver were great and they did a very good job in getting us to/from Rome and the attractions. The tour guide was able to tailor to what we expected to see in the places we were visiting. As I have mentioned in another review of a tour on Viator, it is MUCH better to hire a private tour guide and driver because you get the experience of the tour you would not get on a group tour.
