On April 8, 2026, I had a rainy day tour in Tashkent with Aziz, a TripAdvisor guide. Despite the rain, we continued walking. I had booked a private vehicle for $55, but unfortunately, I lost my Visa card in Samarkand, which was the only way to pay for the reserved amount of $55, causing a delay. Uzbekistan is a central pillar of Central Asian history with a nearly 3,000-year legacy, functioning as a vital crossroads on the Silk Road. Its history is defined by ancient Iranian nomads, conquest by Alexander the Great, the spread of Islam, the Timurid Renaissance, and Soviet integration before becoming an independent republic in 1991. Moving on to my tour guide: Mr. Aziz is a 20-year-old student at the Webster University campus in Tashkent. He is fluent in English and has a great passion for photography. He is very expressive and knowledgeable, explaining the historical significance of monuments in every corner of Tashkent. Since he’s a photography enthusiast, I highly recommend Mr. Aziz as an affordable tour guide in Tashkent. He is truly passionate about showcasing his country to guests, focusing more on the experience than the time. He is very flexible with the schedule, so much so that I was the one who suggested stopping before we finished visiting all the remaining spots. Please check out his photography page at @pathora.trip and his Instagram account @_kadirov.az. Trust me, booking his services is worth it; not only is he kind, but he is also a very understanding person. Although he is only 20 years old, he speaks with a level of maturity and depth that goes far beyond his age.

We had a wonderful day with Aziz touring Tashkent on his photography tour of the city. We took photos and he took great photos of us. We saw a great selection of monuments, and beautiful architectural structures. He took us on the metro to see the lovely underground stations from the Soviet era. We ate an excellent lunch at a local restaurant featuring traditionally cooked food which was included in the price. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and would highly recommend his tour! And he is an exceptional photographer!

I highly recommend this tour, especially at the beginning of your stay, for anyone visiting Tashkent. It’s a great way to see the city’s major sites while admiring the architecture, learning about the history, and taking time to truly appreciate the people of Uzbekistan. Aziz was very thoughtful throughout the tour, always checking in to make sure I was comfortable with the walking pace and enjoying the food along the way. As a solo traveler, I especially appreciated his photography skills-Aziz takes amazing photos, so you’ll leave with wonderful memories of everything you experienced. Because it’s a private tour, we were able to go at our own pace and never felt rushed. I also loved experiencing local life, from taking the train to trying different food vendors and even stopping by a supermarket. Aziz clearly puts a lot of care into his tours, and I really enjoyed our conversations while exploring Tashkent. Overall, there’s no need to keep looking-this tour is definitely worth booking.
