La Basílica (Basílica de Santa Chiara en italiano) es una iglesia dedicada y contiene los restos de Santa Clara de Asís, un seguidor de San Francisco de Asís y fundadora de la Orden de las Pobres Damas, conocida hoy como la Orden de Santa Clara.
Chiesa Nuova. La Chiesa Nuova es una iglesia en Asís, Italia, construida en 1615 en el sitio del supuesto lugar de nacimiento de San Francisco, la casa de Pietro di Bernardone. Luego se llamó Chiesa Nuova porque fue la última iglesia que se construyó en Asís en ese momento.
El Templo de Minerva es un antiguo edificio romano en Asís, Umbría, Italia central. Actualmente alberga una iglesia, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, construida en 1539 y renovada en estilo barroco en el siglo XVII.
Reconocida como Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, la basílica de San Francisco fue construida bajo la dirección del hermano Elías, vicario general y arquitecto de la orden, a partir de 1228, solo dos años después de la muerte del santo, como un lugar diseñado para recibir su permanece.
Si la basílica solemne y oscura invita a la penitencia y al silencio, la iglesia superior se eleva hacia el cielo, aireada y brillante. En un estilo gótico con influencias francesas, la nave tiene cuatro bahías, bóveda de crucería y un crucero y ábside poligonales.

We had a fabulous morning in Assisi with Alessandra. She is a great story teller, very knowledgeable and great sense of humor. I really enjoyed how she explained the history of Assisi and San Francesco de Assisi with a very down to earth twist that I had not experience in tours were religion is involved. We toured the entire town and we visited several sites, including the basilica of Santa Clara, the Minerva church, piazza, nice streets and naturally the upper and lower basilica of San Francesco. It was perfectly timed for high enjoyment and learning. It gave us an interesting perspective that you could relate to today's characters and events.
Barbara was extraordinarily knowledgeable. She educated us well on Assisi’s history, the life of St. Francis, and the fine details of the artwork in the basilica and the criticality of Giotto’s innovations to future artistic developments in the Renaissance. No surprise since she was a teacher in her prior life. A great guide!!

It starts from the top of town at the church of St Clare. Very interesting. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared his personal insights. We took the quiet road behind the town to the Basilica and it was a delight.

Personalized tour of this beautiful city. Even though we were there during a holiday and tour guides were not allowed into the churches, our guide went through detailed instructions of what to look for and how to go through each church.

The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the church, the region and St. Francis. She spoke good English and was quite understandable even when speaking quietly inside the churches.. The pace was easy and covered a lot of ground.

Tour is a private tour which takes you through the history of Assisi, the Poor Claires, St. Francis and the Basilica of St. Francis. Guide was knowledgeable and quite opinionated, but treated the physical sites with dignity and respect. Tour does not include the resting place Carlo Acutis.
