Shane is such a wonderful and generous guy with a lot of knowledge. It was great having a 1:1 tour and visiting the sites at our leisure . Highly recommend Shane for an intimate tour of Soweto, Mandela house, apartheid museum and Constitutional Hill .
Thank you Rita for the review. I am very happy that you enjoyed visiting Johannesburg. The area surrounding Johannesburg has so many attractions and it's great to see tourist spending a few days visiting our attractions. Safe travels. All the best. Shane
Shane was very informative and gave us a very good potted history into South Africa. The Apartheid and Mandela museum were excellent. The homes in Soweto were brick cottages, vastly different from shanty towns we thought
Thank you Julie for doing a review . Yes it is an experience and a historical moment when visiting Soweto to see the actual township. Enjoy the rest of your travels in South Africa . Shane
Thank you Shane for a solid introduction to Johannesburg and South Africa. We learnt about Soweto, Apartheid, the Constitution and Justice system, Mandela and other key contributors, and so many things about this complex mixed society. A keen sportsman, Shane stopped at FNB stadium (the calabash) when he noted our interest—the flexibility of a private tour— and dropped us at Sandton with a great lunch recommendation. Great all round tour in a few hours!
Thank you Cathy for the lovely review. What a wonderful family you have. I enjoyed the tour and the sports talk. All the best and Safe travels. Shane
We really enjoyed our day with Shane. He was extremely friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable about the role of apartheid in the development of South African society. Unfortunately, we were unable to visit the Apartheid Museum (as it was closed due to Good Friday) but he made up for it by taking us to Lesedi Cultural Village and the Cradle of Humankind. We truly enjoyed our time with him and it was a perfect introduction to South Africa.
Thanks very much for the positive review. Yes that's the beauty of a private tour we could change the programme.. I am so happy you enjoyed. All the best Shane
This was just South African born Shane, myself and my husband. Shane was very knowledgeable personable and accumulating. We went early to Mandela's house so we're the only ones there and had a lovely tour guide to ourselves. The apartheid museum is well worth a visit, (you could choose how long you stay there) as was Melrose Arch where we ended our tour. It was good to get a realistic view of Soweto which wasn't as I thought it would be. I would strongly recommend this tour.
What a fantastic couple. I had so much fun. Thank you for the review and ook forward to seeing you again. Safe travels Shane
Shane was an excellent guide. We learned so much about the history, the government, the economy and more on our tour with him. He is a delightful person and we enjoyed our time with him very much!
Thank you for the review and the time you spent with me on the Johannesburg your . I am so happy you enjoyed yourself and look forward to your return to our beautiful country. Shane
Shane was a great host, answering our questions and guiding us throughout the tour. In just half a day, we saw so much while avoiding crowds and traffic. Apartheid Museum is a must visit. Thank you Shane!
Enjoyed the questions and chatting about my beautiful country . Was a tour to remember . Go well and Enjoy your travels. Shane
We had a brilliant time on our tour and seen a lot of sights in a short period of time. Our guide, Shane, was very knowledgeable and took us to the sights at the right times to avoid any queues. Shane took photos of us at the various sights so we didn’t have to at the time and gave us a great restaurant recommendation. As first time visitors to Johannesburg, we greatly appreciated Shane’s knowledge of the area and felt very safe on the trip. We learned so much about South African history and would highly recommend this tour!
Thank you Karla for a wonderful review. It was so much much fun with you and you Mom. All the best for the future. Shane
Interesting half-day tour with Shane through the Soweto neighborhood and the Mandela house. The visit to the Apartheid Museum was interesting and overwhelming. The visit to the Constitutional Court was very interesting. Shane gave us a lot of background information about South Africa and its history, without going into too much detail. We really enjoyed it.
Hi Christine. Thank you for the positive review. All the best with your travels. Shane
Our tour with Shane was truly a fantastic experience! From the first moment everyone felt welcome and at ease. Shane is not only incredibly friendly and welcoming, but also a real connoisseur of the area. He told with great enthusiasm and humour about the history, culture and special stories that you hear nowhere else. What made this tour extra special was that Shane was perfectly suited to our interests. He took the time to answer questions and made sure we got to the most beautiful places – some even real hidden gems we never found ourselves.
Hi Enrico Thank you for the positive review. I am so happy you enjoyed Johannesburg and the apartheid museum tour. Thank you for making the day enjoyable. Shane
