Esta extraordinaria cascada es una de las más altas de la zona y arroja agua cristalina del glaciar 80 m en su cuenca. El hermoso y atractivo sendero que conduce a la cascada Materuni se encuentra a 2400 m sobre el nivel del mar. Atraviesa valles y colinas cubiertos de selva tropical, pasando por "shambas" de café, plátano y aguacate, la palabra kiswahili para granjas. En un día despejado, se pueden ver excelentes vistas de la ciudad de Kibo y Moshi. La caminata hasta la base de la cascada puede ser exigente en algún momento y se recomiendan botas de montaña especialmente durante la temporada de lluvias. Como este viaje está tan cerca de la ciudad de Moshi, es ideal para aquellas personas con tiempo limitado pero que aún les gustaría ver algo de la naturaleza y la belleza que esta región de Tanzania tiene para ofrecer.

Together with my daughter we did trips and tour to the waterfall with Alpha van Oserok, with lunch at a Chagga tribe and with a coffee ceremony. Alpha picked us up at our hotel and together we walked to the waterfall. Along the way he explained a lot about all the plants, trees and animals that could be seen there. He is a relaxed and extremely experienced guide and we had a great day.

The tour to Materuni with Alfa as our guide was a wonderful experience. We were able to plan everything in advance with him and he was especially flexible with our wishes. We would especially like to highlight that he knows all the important places very well and knew how to explain everything. We also visited a coffee farm where we learned the coffee process, with a fun atmosphere. All in all, a wonderful tour with an extremely pleasant and knowledgeable guide. This tour offered a wonderful chance to see and explore the forests at the base of Kilimanjaro, while also providing an opportunity to learn about the rich cultures of the area. We have booked this tour with OseroKtrips and had the pleasure to meet Alpha who was our guide for this tour. Alpha was so kind and friendly and went above and beyond to make our tour a memorable one. As we were on our honeymoon he even surprised us with a toast that he’s organised for us at the village. It was truly a memorable experience and the trip itself was incredible ! We tasted the delicious coffee made from the villagers own plantations and seeing the process was captivating for coffee lovers like me! We hiked all the way to the waterfalls on the Kilimanjaro slopes and had incredible views of nature. Alpha even took some lovely pictures of us and took great care of
