Comenzaremos nuestra experiencia de aprendizaje y descubrimiento en el icónico Faro de Barra, ubicado en el Fuerte de Santo Antônio, donde caminaremos por el lugar tomando excelentes fotografías y disfrutando de la brisa. Esta es la entrada de la Bahía de Todos los Santos.
¡Aquí es donde el portugués Thomé de Souza fundó Salvador! La playa más democrática de la ciudad, de aguas cálidas y tranquilas, donde encuentras todo tipo de gente. Recomiendo encarecidamente pasar una mañana o volver durante la puesta de sol.

Lugar icónico con edificios interesantes
La Catedral es considerada una de las iglesias más importantes de Brasil y fue el cuarto templo realizado por los jesuitas en Salvador en el siglo XVII y posee una magnífica colección de Arte Sacro.
Aquí estamos en la cima de la colina, donde se construyó la primera capital de Brasil. En esta plaza tenemos el famoso Ascensor Lacerda del siglo XIX que conecta la Ciudad Baja y la Ciudad Alta. Palacio Rio Branco que fue sede del primer Gobernador de Brasil, Thomé de Souza, el Ayuntamiento y la Casa de Camara donde aún funciona la administración municipal. Comenzaremos a explorar el Centro Histórico Pelourinho a pie, visitando la Catedral y el Convento e Iglesia de São Francisco de Assis. Tenemos tiempo para comida callejera o un restaurante. Esta es la oportunidad de interactuar con la gente local sumergiéndose en nuestra vida diaria.
Construida a principios del siglo XVIII, la Iglesia y Convento de São Francisco es una de las Siete Maravillas de Origen Portugués en el Mundo. Hermosos azulejos y madera de jacarandá, además de mucho oro y pinturas de artistas locales, forman parte de este destacado complejo.
La famosa Plaza donde hoy en día se encuentra la Fundación Casa Jorge Amado, uno de mis escritores favoritos y también donde Michael Jackson interpretó con Olodum la canción “No les importamos”

Highly recommend this private tour with Gabriela. She showed us the favorite haunts of locals and even took us to the best ice cream shop. She was very knowledgeable about the local history as we walked Pelirunho area. She was especially attentive to our needs as one of our party was unwell.

My 15 year old and I spent a wonderful day together with Gabi. Gabi showed us many interesting parts of Salvador and taught us about the history and culture. She made it interesting for a teenager too! There was some walking but a lot was by car. I highly recommend Gabi for a tour in Salvador!

City sights by car & walking.. just a shame the public buildings were covered in boarding due to carnival! Recommended

Gabriela met us near the cruise ship at about 8:15am and from there, we had a lovely 6 hour tour of the city, with a lunch stop, (our expense) in the touristy, (but a must see), area of upper old town. Gabriela’s English is excellent and her knowledge of the city is superb. Although there are countless churches in Salvador, we limited our visits to the Bonfim Basilica. Had we seen more, the tour would have extended another hour. Book this tour without concern. It’s massively better value than any cruise ship excursion.

We loved touring Sqlvador with Gabriella. We booked an all day tour that started at 10 am from our hotel. She took us around the city’s most significant neighborhood by car and on foot. She knows the local history real well and she clearly loves telling others about it. Gabriella who is originally from Argentina also speaks very good English which we found was rare in the north east. We highly recommend her!
