Las Grutas de Yungang es un sitio del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO conocido por sus espectaculares esculturas de roca, y el Monasterio Colgante, un templo adornado construido en un acantilado.

Su conductor de habla inglesa lo recogerá a las 6:00 a.m. de su céntrico hotel de Beijing y lo trasladará a Datong.
Llegue alrededor de las 10:00 am y dos horas visitando el Monasterio Colgante, una de las obras de arquitectura de madera más singulares y notables de China. El monasterio es también el único construido en honor a Sakyamuni, Laozi y Confucio, quienes son fundadores del budismo, el taoísmo y el confucianismo, respectivamente.
Después de disfrutar de algo de comida local en Datong, como los fideos en rodajas, visitará las grutas de Yungang, un sitio del Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad desde 2001. Es considerado por la UNESCO como una "obra maestra del arte budista chino de las cuevas y representa la fusión exitosa de budistas. Arte simbólico religioso del sur y centro de Asia con tradiciones culturales chinas, a partir del siglo V d. C. bajo los auspicios imperiales. El sitio está compuesto por 252 grutas con más de 51,000 estatuas y estatuas de Buda.
Luego, su conductor lo transferirá de regreso a su hotel de Beijing y llegará a su hotel alrededor de las 8:00 pm.

The trip to Datong from Beijing was over 5 hours one way to see the hanging temple and Yungang Grottoes due to some traffic but Mr. Ma had made trip more pleasant and enjoyable during the long drive with bananas, tangerines (didn't expected). Mr. Ma did help us to find out if you are over 60 years of age, the entrance fee is free to both places. We really recommend this tour since the hanging temple is an amazing place to visit. I was picked up by Steven on time, he is very knowledgeable about everything. He knew all the driving short cuts to avoid horrible traffic jam. He was being superbly helpful to get me a ticket for the cable car and providing a good recommendation for lunch.

We had only one spare day in Beijing and want to visit Datong. Everyone told us it is too far to visit Datong in one day, but we found this trip in Viator. Kevin is an excellent driver, he picked-up us at the hotel at 6:00 am in the morning and we were back around 10:00 pm, a trip of 16 hours. The trip to/from Datong took around 5 hours one way. We had ample time to visit the Monastery and the Grottoes and had a local noodle meal. Though it was a long day, we had very relax day, manly because Kevin is a safe driver and he also took the time to help us purchasing the tickets, ordering our meals and answering our questions along the way. So, it is very doable to visit the Hanging Monastery and Yungang Grottoes in one day from Beijing, even at our age around 70.
<p>Kevin was a great driver. He helped us even more than required. We asked if he knew a good local place to eat in Datong. He took us to a fantastic noodle shop. The food was great and very inexpensive.</p>
