Erik was the perfect host/driver on our private van ride from Oslo to Bergen. He is very knowledgeable, we chatted and asked him many questions during our journey. We drove through the mountain tunnels, over the snowy ridges and farmland of the valleys. We decided to take the boat through the fjord, which was spectacular. The bright sunshine, blue sky and crystal clear water made the fjords and waterfalls even more beautiful. Erik picked us up at the dock afterwards and drove us to our hotel in Bergen. Our group of four will never forget this experience, it was magnificent!
Thank you so much for this beautiful feedback. Erik will be truly touched by your words. He brings both local insight and a calm, curious presence to every journey – and it's clear from your description that this trip became something more than just a transfer. When the elements align – snowy ridges, deep fjords, bright skies – and you’ve got the right guide at the wheel, that’s when magic happens. We’re honored to have been part of your time in Norway, and grateful that you took the time to share it. – The Scenic Roadtrip Team
Guides are friendly, and travel experience is very rich, take us to many private attractions, can avoid a lot of tourists and luggage trouble, in the middle of the way to see many canyon attractions, quite magnificent and beautiful, the driver's English is very good, communication will not be a lot of problems, and will carefully arrange the transfer, can participate in this Norway short film tour.
This was the best way to get from Oslo to Bergen! First off, Erik was a gem! He was punctual, polite, interesting, intelligent, and just so nice to spend the day with. And he was a good driver! It was so nice to enjoy Flam without hauling our bags everywhere. And he was right there when we got off the boat. He gave us a great recommendation for dinner in Bergen as well. Thank you!
Loved the views. The van was comfortable, spacious and modern. Bjorn was a great guide, driver and conversationalist. He graciously accommodated all of our special requests and his knowledge is extremely diverse from history to geology. He helped us book the scenic boat trip across the fjord and set us down at exactly the right place. He drove around to greet us in Flam when we disembarked. This is the way to go if you want to see southern Norway on your trip from Oslo to Bergen without being crowded, rushed, or dealing with luggage.
Bjorn a descendant viking and a guide, his stories and places surpass all expectations. He knows places to show on the way to bergen which you may not be able to cover even if you are driving yourself, with extraordinary welcomeness and explanations he made our trip truly memorable. We saw some of the best views I have seen in my life. 100% recommended tour if you are travelling from Oslo to bergen for any kind to travellers be it family , solo , friends this will be a memorable experience.
The scenery along the way and the interesting conversations with Bjorn who is.very knowledgeable. Bjorn also made 2 interesting stops along the way and gave us opportunities to take pictures. Bjorn -Thks for the pleasant experience :)
Great land tour from Oslo to Bergen lead by Ms Hanne Frimanslund. She is very informative about Norway, really enjoy her accompany and good driving skill.
We scheduled a full day tour to Bergen from Oslo for a 6:30 AM pickup at our hotel. The cost was $1,625.94 USD, and we prepaid in full. We never heard from this tour company at any point. I emailed them the day before to be sure we were still scheduled and to let them know we would be in the hotel lobby at 6:30 AM. I never received a reply. On the day of the tour at 6:35 AM, we still had not heard from this tour company. I called the number provided and was told that the time we were given was incorrect and they would be here at 7:45 AM to pick us up. I was told by our driver, Bjorn, to “get breakfast.” Food was not included on this tour, so we had eaten before all this. We rolled with this inconvenience and sat and waited for another 1:15 minutes. When Bjorn finally arrived, he said it was cold in Bergen and suggested grabbing a warmer jacket, which we went to do. He then asked, “You know this trip is an overnight trip, right?” I said, "No, I booked a day trip and a return to hotel." He said that “lots of people get that confused, and they booked three trips this year from people who thought the same thing and had to cancel.” He said it was right in my itinerary and then he failed to produce a shred of evidence indicating this would be a one-way trip. He said it wasn’t possible to compete this trip in a day. I then asked him where we could visit instead of Berg to salvage the tour. He stated he had to go to Berg regardless, so he could not offer another trip to us. He also admitted the information in the tour description online was incorrect and blamed being late on this as well. The tour reads: “Hotel pickup and or drop-off.” Nowhere on this listing does it state this is a one-way tour. One-way tours should absolutely state “one-way tour.” You would think that after three other experiences like this in a single year, you would correct your listing instead of continuing to sell what I believe to be a bad bill of goods. Bjorn told me that we will not receive a refund. He then took his phone out and took pictures of us, apparently to verify he was there. Still, very offensive and off-putting. The tour description has since been changed to read: “After you finish up in Flåm and Gudvangen you will take the final part of the drive via Voss City to Bergen and be checking in at your hotel about 9-10 PM. It was a full day with a lot of impressions, and you were guaranteed to get a good nights sleep before Bergen was ready for exploration for the next few days.” This was added after our trip was booked, and I was never notified when it was added. It could have been after I complained. Please see my printed itinerary from the tour company, which proves what I’m saying. Thankfully I saved this information. I have been unsuccessful as of yet in getting a refund, but I will continue to try. This really put a damper on our entire visit, and we missed out on seeing the one thing we came here for. I would STRONGLY recommend avoiding this company.
Dear Sir..... It is incredibly tempting to go into details in replying your review. However, we will not do that. Instead, we can inform you a few facts: 1. 174 bookings have been made of this tour - making it the most sold and highest-rated private tour from Oslo in history. 2. Amongst these 174 bookings, another two travelers have failed to read the full itinerary like you. Both these were swiftly solving their errors and took our suggestion for seeing the Fjords and jumping on the train back. You did not........ 3. When you book a plane, you are having a fare from point A to B. If you did not book a return ticket you can't just blame the Captain and ask him to return you because you did not read the tour description. He has to be another place - just like us. 4. At the very same time and in the very same reception this morning - our other Guide picked up three ladies going on the same tour, reading the very same itinerary. They all had their suitcases, were properly dresses for a tour that has 5 of 11 pictures showing snow. Furthermore, the voucher that you have supplied as "evidence" says: USE CLOTHES AND SHOES FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITY IN NORWAY: You chose to show up in a T-shirt and sandals...... In a Artic country, in mid-September... Seriously??? 5. The pictures you have supplied is the VOUCHER, not the itinerary. The itinerary can be found here under the What To Expect section and has remained unchanged for two years: https://www.viator.com/tours/Oslo/The-Scenic-Roadtrip-Oslo-to-Bergen-via-the-fjords-by-private-van/d902-57232P3 6. This tour has 17 outstanding reviews, and yours are the only telling the complete opposite story. We are confident that readers are able to see what has happened here and that they are able to read between the lines. We wish you a pleasant vacation and hope that you had ample time for shopping this day. We suggest visiting a clothes store..... Kindly - Bjorn, Owner and Guide ;-)
