Monumentos Conmemoran la gran trayectoria de 1836, cuando los colonos debían establecer la Colonia Transvaal. Se encontraron con algunas batallas como la batalla de Blood River.
La casa de Paul Kruger en el número 60 de Nkomo Street, anteriormente conocida como Church Str. La casa con techo de chapa galvanizada y terraza es un museo que contiene los antiguos muebles originales utilizados por la familia Kruger. La casa está justo enfrente de la Gereformeerde kerk, la iglesia a la que Oom Paul y su esposa solían asistir los domingos y él daba una o dos palabras si era necesario, aunque nunca fue predicador. En la entrada, justo al lado de Varender, te recibirán los dos leones de mármol donados por el amigo de los Kruger, Barney Barnato.
El ayuntamiento, con su Torre del Reloj condenada a desaparecer, fue inaugurado en 1935. El carillón de 32 campanas cilíndricas fue donado por Sir George Heys, el primer propietario de Melrose House.
Melrose House, en Jacob Mare Street, es la casa donde tuvo lugar la firma de la Paz Vereeniging el 31 de mayo de 1902 para poner fin a la guerra de Sudáfrica. George Heys, el hombre de muchos misterios, durante la guerra la casa fue requisada por los británicos como cuartel general imperial en Sudáfrica y se convirtió en la residencia de Lord Roberts, el comandante en jefe de las fuerzas británicas. ¡Hablemos más mientras estamos de gira!
La sede del gobierno de Sudáfrica tiene su sede en Meintlies Kop y se conoce como Union Buildings. Fue diseñado por Sir Herbert Baker en el Renacimiento con los modismos clásicos. Construido en 1910 y terminado en 1913.

Excellent. The guide is essential for knowing what to visit.
A great overview of Pretoria including the major sights. Our guide Ben was informative and has an indepth knowledge of the freezes inside the Voortrekker monument, which was extreamily interesting and educational. Admissions were included to the sites, and there is time to explore the Monument and Ditsong Kruger Museum.
Transport was included. The tour was very private, just us to and the driver. Therefore just by car. We visited 3 places, and the Foretracker Monument was the most interesting a d we got the most information. The other 2 places, we visited mostly alone.
Ben was very good, accommodated our wishes and was very pleasant. We felt safe all the time while visiting the center of Pretoria.

Really excellent trip around Pretoria including Vortrekker monument, Kruger house, downtown Pretoria & finishing wandering around beautiful gardens & viewing the 9m tall bronze Mandela monument . Brilliant educated guide👍

Thank you to Ben! He fetched us from our hotel and drove us on a historic to present day tour of Pretoria. We learned a lot about the area and some about South Africa in general. We had a great tour of the Voortrekker monument and farm grounds, Kruger house museum, and the Union buildings where the giant statue of Mandela is located. Funny story while at the statue: there were a lot of elementary students there that day and as I was climbing back up the steps two young girls said hello. I said hello back and one asked how old I am. I told her I am 70, and she said 'Wow! You're old!' : )) We drove by Church Square, beautiful Palace of Justice building, sadly an unsafe area. We highly recommend this tour, it was well worth our time.

Ben came to collect us at 9am sharp. He was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. We visited the main sites of historical interest and had plenty of time to look around. Ben gave us lots of additional background information as we drove around and at the sites. The only negative was a lack of air conditioning in the car - we opened the windows.

An excellent half day tour. Ben was a great guide, knowledgeable without overload. The Vortrekker Museum was amazing and it is well worth spending the extra time there. We will always think of it at noon on 16th December!
