I really enjoyed this tour and got to discover which types of Czech beer I enjoyed (I didn't realize you can get dark lagers, thought they only were light). We got to try some more traditional locations and also some newer places. Our guide, Lukas, shared some wonderful history and information about Czech. He also did a bit of a walking tour for us as we went from location to location. We went to 4 locations and tried 5 different beers around Old Town, New Town and Lesser Town. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Tomas was a pleasure to explore different pubs with. While some places may cancel if people do not show, Tomas took just the two of us out to three different places to try different beers at each one. By the end of the tour it was like we were drinking with a good friend. He gave us tips of where else to go (and where not to go). He's an experienced brewer with great taste in beer and I'd 100% recommend this tour. The last stop has a great surprise and in my opinion, the best beer as well. Great vibes!
We had Tomáš as a guide, and it was just my girlfriend and me on the tour, so it was very private. This made for an intimate and casual tour, which was fantastic. Tomáš took us to a traditional hole-in-the-wall beer bar to learn more about Pilsner Urquell, then to a more traditional Czech beer hall (complete with authentic antique decor from the Austro-Hungarian era), and finally to a contemporary brewery outlet complete with craft brews from microbrewery Pivovar Fracek, which was a true highlight of the tour. Tomáš has a broad knowledge of Czech beer as well as beer from around the world. We also had a few lessons about Prague, the Czech Republic, and the Czech language, which was greatly appreciated. I'd recommend this to everyone who's curious about the beer culture in the CR. Tomáš was especially great, if you can get him as a guide.
We got confirmation of a meeting place and showed 30 minutes early. No one from Hidden Gems showed up. Was the tour cancelled? We will not know because we were never contacted about a cancellation.
I am very sorry to hear about your frustrating experience. We know how disappointing it is to miss out on a planned activity during your time in Prague. I want to assure you that your tour was definitely not cancelled. Our guide was at the designated meeting point at the scheduled time and waited an additional 15 minutes for any missing participants before departing with the rest of the group. It sounds like there may have been a mix-up regarding the exact location of the meeting spot. We include our direct phone number and email address on every booking voucher specifically for these situations, so guests can contact us immediately if they have trouble finding the guide. Unfortunately, we did not receive any calls or messages from missing participants this week. We would like to look into exactly what happened and see how we can assist you further. Fun afternoon exploring small pubs with a local guide. No tourists spots!enjoyable reccommendations for authentic food too
It was a fantastic tour with a wonderful guide through the world of beers in Prague. Highly recommended.
Fantastic Tour! Danielle is great!!
guide was knowledgeable on Czech beer and the pub history. nice walk around town with additional history. all the beers were similar (lagers).
It was a very nice evening, very informative and entertaining! Thank you very much!🙏
This is a small, intimate tour. My husband and I were with our guide Danielle and another couple. The tour stops at three local, non touristy establishments in the Old Town and we sampled completely different types of beer at each place. The last stop offered us the opportunity to purchase local cuisine (paid on our own) to accompany the tasty beer. Highly recommend as it is fun and educational.
