Experiencia culinaria portuguesa en Lisboa

Chef Samara was fantastic and we enjoyed learning with her. The overall experience however was lacking from what we have done on other such tours. On those, each of us got to make each dish from provided recipes. Here, while one person was making dessert and another was making soup, they could not see what each other was doing. So we didn’t know what was in each dish or how it was made.

We had a really enjoyable evening at Cooking Lisbon. The space is super cute and welcoming, and Chef Samara and Fernanda were super friendly, accommodating and generous throughout the evening. Samara is clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about Portuguese food and took time to explain the dishes and traditions behind them. The menu gave us a good introduction to traditional Portuguese cooking. The tempura green beans were my favorite! We also made Bacalhau com Natas and tomato rice. Both had good flavor, although for us they were a little too liquid/runny. The menu was also quite sausage-heavy, and being in Portugal I would have loved to cook some more seafood such as octopus, prawns or sardines. Portions overall were very generous, as were the wine and other beverages. The only exception was the chicken, where unfortunately there wasn’t quite enough for everyone in our group to have a piece. My biggest suggestion would be to make the experience more hands-on. We had a small group, so I expected that we’d each be doing quite a bit of the actual preparation and cooking. We did participate, but Chef Samara handled more of the cooking than I expected. I would have loved to get more involved and learn by actually making more of the dishes ourselves. Overall, a lovely atmosphere, fantastic hospitality and a nice introduction to Portuguese cuisine. With a little more hands-on cooking and perhaps some more seafood on the menu, it would have been an even better experience.

Chef Sylvia was wonderful with background, techniques, and clear instructions. Loved the hands-on participation and wine / charcuterie.

Chef Samara was our lead for the wonderful evening learning about Portuguese Cuisine. She provided an excellent experience with a strong knowledge and passion for the menu. Highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys great food paired with good wine and delightful staff.

We had a great time! Samara was our instructor and she made the class seem like it was just a group of friends cooking and sharing a great Portuguese meal. Learned, laughed, drank, nibbled and ate. Do not even snack before you go, because there is an abundance of food.

Angela is an amazing teacher, explains things so well and is so warm and welcoming! I was having a stressful day before I got here and this class melted away my worries and made my trip better :) The other members taking the class were so fun and good natured too! Best cooking class ever I would 1000% book this again and again! Learned SO much. Obrigada Angela!

Had a great time at this cooking class making classic Portuguese food! We were there with the instructor and 3 guests. Everyone got involved to whatever capacity they wanted with a lot of guidance.

Great experience, was fun and actually did the prep and cooking. Got to take away all the recipes which are easy and delicious. Highly recommend

This was such a great cooking class! Sylvia the chef was patient and helpful when giving the instructions. It was a small group of two, so we had more opportunities to prep the food and cook it. It was very hands on. It felt like having dinner with friends! The food turned out delicious and eating it in the end was our reward. I highly recommend this tour.

Such a fun evening with friends doing a Portuguese cooking class! We cooked so many things and had a feast at the end. The instructor was very patient and did a great job of explaining everything! We were provided wine and a charcuterie to snack on while cooking and gifted an apron at the end. This is such a great way to sample a variety of local foods while visiting with friends! Highly recommend!
