Barbara was our guide for this tour. Her enthusiasm, knowledge and personality made the food tour one of the best we have experienced. We were taken to lovely local shops in the historic part of Porto where we were able to sample local products all the while giving us a lesson in Porto and Portuguese history. Barbara introduced us to the shop owners who then allowed us to sample cheeses, wine, tamponades and meats. Quite frankly, the three hour introduction to the food scene in Porto seemed to go by much too quickly. If you are considering a private food tour, you should request Barbara. She is a gem.
It was a wonderful experience! Barbara, our tour guide, was so informative and personable. She made the tour. I highly recommend you ask for her when booking.
Thank you Denise for your comment and lovely words about Barbara :) really happy you enjoyed your holidays in our city. All the best
Pedro provided a concise and thoughtful historical overview throughout our food and wine walking tour, which added wonderful context to the experience. The food was exceptional, and the beer and wine selections were top-notch Portuguese choices. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it.
Ricardo was fabulous! His knowledge of history is phenomenal and he has a wonderful personality! The food was great! I highly recommend you take this tour with Ricardo!!
Paula was great from the moment we met, it was clear that she wanted us to make the most of our time in Porto and she gave us plenty of information about the City and the food. There was plenty to eat and drink - all of which was varied and tasty. We would highly recommend this tour you will not leave hungry.
Paula showed us some of the sites and great spots around Porto. We enjoyed sampling Fish & green wine in Porto market; cheese, cured meats and different wines in the old town (at Cibinho) and rounded the tour off sampling Bifana and beer (at Bó tá quente). A great morning out :-)
Ricardo did an excellent job His history background made it much more interesting. I definitely recommend this tour
Our guide (sorry, forgot her name, but she had fabulous pink hair!) was incredibly knowledgeable about both Porto history and the food. She gave us a great introduction to Porto on our first day there.
Pedro was delightful! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. So much food to sample. It was delicious and the wine was divine! Thanks for a lovely day, Pedro!
Great experience. Our guide normally does historical tours so we had delicious food and lots of historical information. We had 3 stops for food and wine. Each restaurant was welcoming and provided a good variety of local food. The tour was about 3 hours and was just the 2 of us plus the guide. Sadly, I have forgotten his name! Porto is a very hilly town so it was nice that we started at the top and worked our way down. He gave us the tip to take the funicular back up to the top if we didn't want to climb the hills back to our hotel.
