We received our tickets the day before and the staff was there to greet us when we got off the train in Naples and again at Pompeii. They made the day very easy and our guide through the ruins was very good and knowledgeable.
They were very good at communicating to us before the trip. Matteo met us at train and was super helpful on getting us to the right platform for subway.
Overall good tour. You are handed off to other guides along the way. While you have train tickets for the entire round trip of Rome to Naples and Naples to Pompeii (as well as return trip to Rome) you only have guides on the way Pompeii. Returning to Rome you do not have guides so pay attention to the process on the way to Pompeii. Elana, our guide for Pompeii archeology site was great! Thorough and spoke slow and concise. Overall good value and experience.
As far as the trains we were pretty much on our own, except for outbound Rome to Naples where Lara directed us to which train but she didn’t accompany us, confusion at Naples on where To meet but we did get a person with us. On the way back it was a different story. We were totally on our own and it was very very stressful, no one from the tour company was there to help and it was very confusing. I booked a “guided” tour to be guided all The way through and that was not the case at all. But the tour of Pompeii was awesome! The tour company had plenty of opportunities to lessen our stress and be there for us all along the way, but they just literally left us at Pompeii to find our way back.
Guide was knowledgeable and covered the highlights of the site.
Grace, our tour guide was so incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. She really knew her stuff. Her English was excellent and easy to understand. Our tour was only two hours, but she offered other options and recommendations for our free time. Highly recommend
The company made it very smooth and while the guide wasn’t proficient in English, she did a very nice job and answered questions. There is a lot to see.
Very well organized. Had staff meet us at train stations to make sure we knew which trains to take and answer any questions.
We really enjoyed our Pompeii guided tour with train included from Rome. Our guide was genuinely enthusiastic and clearly loved sharing the history of Pompeii, which made the experience engaging from start to finish. While the guide had a strong accent, their excitement and passion came through beautifully and added to the authenticity of the tour. The information was presented in a relatable, human way that appealed to everyone in our group—from our high school-aged daughter and college-aged son to my parents. It was wonderful to see all generations equally interested and engaged. The pace of the tour was fairly quick, which kept things moving and allowed us to see a lot. For my parents in their 80s, it was occasionally challenging to keep up, and we were out of range of the headsets at times. Even so, the guide remained energetic, informative, and clearly passionate about bringing Pompeii’s history to life. Overall, it was a memorable, informative experience that we truly appreciated. Train was a bit stressful, but the guides did arrive to make sure we were on the correct train and literally walked us to the platform. They noted a 9:20 meet up with the guide, we arrived at 9:10 to no one. However, at exactly 9:20 the guide was there as promised!
Effective organization and very interesting French guide. A very good formula to visit Pompeii without worrying about logistics.
