Our guide Alessandro was terrible. We were a group of nine and he spoke so softly that nobody could hear him. He gave very very little information. He would just walk us from one place to another, which we could’ve done ourselves very easily. Nobody learned anything from this guide. On top of that, we had somebody in a wheelchair in our group, and he was absolutely no help and did not use accessible routes. Complete waste of money!
I wish to share a positive review for the tour that we took with Alessandra. I visited with my wife and two kids. Twenty years ago my wife and I had visited Pompeii (without a guide) but I think that we learned FAR more in this visit. I appreciated the chance to ask questions off Alessandra and that the group was not too large (about 10) , making it possible to do so. It was a great experience and i would recommend it to others.
How very impressive to have been here! Our tourguide (Ciro) did a fantastic job! We learned a lot and learned a lot! I would recommend this tour to anyone! Thanks Ciro!
The guide was okay, but the equipment was very poor so we couldn’t hear what she was saying. For the earphones to work, you need to be sitting 5 feet and we were 15 people so naturally couldn’t all be nearby. Otherwise, we just heard beeping. Our group decided to not use headphones, couldn’t hear, so just looked around. Many others had the same issue but there wasn’t anything the guide could do to fix it besides saying “come close”. We paid a lot for the tour to have it go to waste.
Our Antonella was excellent: happy to answer our questions, gave us lots of information we wouldn't have got from a guide book. The tour was interesting, informative and fun. We really did learn an awful lot. Thank you
Chaotic at meeting point, there were no represensitives at meeting place till after alloted time. We were advised to get there early !! It transpired that the first Sunday of every month is free to enter, we had paid. Also we were thought that prebooking meant not we did not have to join the queue, it transpired this was not the case . Fortunately out guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining, making the tour worthwhile.
We had a great tour. Ciro was a true raconteur who really brought Pompeii to life with historical facts and juicy anecdotes. Perfect to keep both adults and kids entertained and forget the heat!
I have studied Ancient Rome and Pompéi extensively. Our tour guide got the majority of the facts wrong. The guide herself did well articulating her script, but the information was incorrect. Some ideas (mostly in the house) were correct, but the terminology was wrong. Disappointed.
Really enjoyed the tour with Jolana, very knowledgeable and she covered everything so well.
We had an amazing time exploring Pompeii with Jolanta. She was knowledgeable and approachable and went at a pace that allowed the entire group could keep up. The two hour format was perfect to get you in Pompeii, get you acclimatized and then let you explore on your own. Jolanta took a lot of individual time to help guests understand how the massive site was laid out. She was informative and had many fun facts that kept our English speaking group laughing. The equipment Askos uses for the tours worked great. I didn’t hear a single person complain that they couldn’t hear. A really nice morning!
