Wonderful day trip! Marina was great - so knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting facts about life and culture in Bulgaria. The day was long but there were plenty of opportunities for breaks and rests. Enough time in Plovdiv for a lunch and shop.
Maybe we just got unlucky with the guide who spent most of her time on a phone and chatting with her colleagues... but we haven't learned a lot about Bulgaria on this tour and mostly were given free time to explore by ourselves without clear instructions. Time management was not ideal as well as the choice of meeting points. Lots of time was wasted looking for lost group members. Overall, both Plovdiv and Koprishtivtsa failed to leave a positive impression. The bus ride by the mountains was more scenic than the tour itself.
Maria gave a great tour of Plovdiv and Koprivshtitsa. She was informative, knowledgeable and gave interesting facts about certain sites. I learned she has been in the tour business for many decades and it shows. I was also surprised how I enjoyed the Koprivshtitsa tour. It's a small village with historical significance and beautiful small houses and bridges. The temperature was perfect when I was there (17 degrees Celsius), and I enjoyed listening to Maria's stories and had fun dancing with her and the group the traditional Bulgarian way. My only issue is how quick the Plovdiv tour is. 3 hours is definitely not enough to explore the city. Since I knew very little about it, it made sense to have a guide for my first trip. But I would definitely go back to Plovdiv.
Very well conducted tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us a lot of history. Both places were awesome. A must visit. Would definitely recommend.
There was a problem with the language. I purchased the trip with a guide in Italian, while our guide spoke English and Spanish, and to have the guide in Italian, you had to use the translation installed on the route. Not very practical, because you either fiddle with your phone or look at the places you went to visit. An excellent rating nonetheless for the guide who did his job well. She did not cause the problem.
Company was very thorough with providing everything you need to know about this excursion. Extra information is available through the link they send. City history is very interesting. Guide Martin was very patient and friendly.
The guide svetzolar Dimitrov an excellent person with a very good experience The trip was well organized with a very good timetable I highly recommend this tour
Vayana was our tour guide and Stanislav was our driver - they were both excellent. She gave a narrative during the ride and she was with us the whole time. She showed us interesting places and gave us explanations of these places. They were patient. Granted it was a long day but well worth it! Plovdiv was amazing, the little forgotten city with storks and graffitis was adorable..
Vayana and the driver(sorry forgot the name) were absolutely superb! The tour was in Spanish but due to some of us speaking only English she also did it in English too! It was very much appreciated. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the tour and would definitely recommend it! Thank you both!
Plovdiv worths the visit, no doubt. Hristo Hanev was great, he went the extra mile to show us everything, and gave us extra time and was always available. One thing I appreciate is that his advices were with no personal interest, no friend restaurant, no trying to sell us something which is hard to find sometimes in tourist companies. Loved his explanations, were easy and friendly. Overall a nice tour. Note that there is nearly six hours of bus in total, be aware of that when you book.
