Itinerario

We were to travel to Ushuaia by cruise; however, high winds prevented us from docking. We notified the tour operator and Viator as soon as we were informed by the cruise captain, 21 hours before the tour was to start. We were past the full refund cut off, but thought that we may still get at least a partial refund as it was a situation beyond our control and we were only 3 hours past the cut off. No! Viator let us know that, “The operator has advised that they are unable to approve the refund request, as the tour is scheduled to begin tomorrow and all arrangements have already been finalized.” Very inflexible, especially as the tour included a lunch that we were obviously not going to consume. A disappointing self-interested mercenary decision.
The people, food, and penguins were amazing. However, you're basically overpaying for a private taxi to and from the penguins, plus lunch. In fact the penguin tour is a completely separate company. There is no "4x4" part of the excursion. We were in an all wheel drive SUV along the same pot-holed road as a Toyota Corolla.
Our guide was great, the penguins were great and the meal of seafood centered on king crab was also great!
What a joyful guided private tour (4x4) it was. Our guide, Gabriel, was such a informative and kind. He showed and explained very well on each detail of the east side of Andes and the natural dynamics. Top of that, we have learned so much history of Ushuaia! The ride to fisherman village where is built for Argentina Navy base was smooth and fan! Delicious lunch provided along with wine! for penguin, the boat ride (1. 5hours) was very fan! The experienced pilot and a friendly assistant made us very comfortable. Great experience! What are you waiting for! It´s worthy!
Our guide was Fakando, best entertainer for English. The hand-picked centolla (crab) with butter sauce was amazing, and satisfied our cravings for the entire trip. Penguins were in season with babies, and the boat ride in the Beagle channel was sporty and fun.
This experience was eight hours, and NOT as described. They did not have an air conditioned van, instead it was a very small SUV like a Rav 4 in America, that they crammed 6 tourists plus the guide in. We were the last tourists picked up and I was forced to sit on the middle hump for more than 4 hours of car ride. Extremely uncomfortable. We stopped at the ‘lagoon’, it was freezing and the minute I stepped outside I was mauled by mosquitoes that drew blood. The guide received a call that the penguin tour was delayed so he kept us standing around for way too long in this freezing, uncomfortable spot that again had mass amounts of vicious bugs. We then loaded up and drove aimlessly to see a vacated beaver damn far out of the way. He turned around and drove us back to do the penguin tour, and a few of us had to use the restroom and it was a very hurried, crazy experience with him shouting at us to hurry up the entire time. The penguin trip was nice and the guide on that tour was great, very informative. Upon returning we were taken to the crab restaurant and had a meal with the other tourists. It was decent, not the best. We did experience the crab, it was rather tasteless but the other courses were tasty. We then loaded up for the long ride home, at which point he allowed two women to switch places which left me even less room. On top of that he kept pushing his jacked into the center console onto my lap. I just gave up pushing it back and looked forward to at least being the first couple dropped off. But instead of just dropping us off, the guide with more than a half tank of gas, pulls into a busy gas station and we sit there 15 minutes so he can fill the tank on OUR time. Needless to say, this was not what we signed up for nor was it consistent with other reviews. I would skip this one. My back still hurts from being jammed into that ridiculously small car. Very subpar experience for a lot of money.
We had an amazing day with our Polish family who are visiting us. Gabriel, our driver and guide, was great, all the time he was describing the places and stopping to enjoy the scenery and take photos. We had lunch in Puerto Almaza, all very rich, especially the centolla a la butter We complete the tour by boarding the penguin boat, where we reach the coast and enjoy the penguins inches from us. An amazing experience and highly recommended!!
The food is very good. The Penguins don’t seem to care that there are people in a boat on the shore taking their pictures. I never thought that there was a bottom of the planet, but I guess we were there!
Dario qas an awesome guide. He had many stories to tell. Despite the weather with snow, we had safe memorable journey. I strongly recommend
Very good, although I expected to interact with the penguins but well, I don't think I read the fine print. The ride was up to scratch all the q said we're gonna do it we did it
