En la mañana, recoja en el lobby de su hotel en Amman, y la transferencia a través de la autopista del desierto por 2.5 -03.00 aprox. horas a la asombrosa ciudad de rock Petra. Esta fascinante capital Nabatea antigua dominó durante mucho tiempo las rutas comerciales árabes, y es una visita obligada en el Medio Oriente. Encuentra a tu guía en el Visitor's Center y comienza a explorar el sitio místico. Pasas por el Siq, un estrecho desfiladero donde obtienes las primeras vistas cercanas de la piedra arenisca de colores, que termina en el hermoso Tesoro. Camina por la calle de las Fachadas hasta las Tumbas Reales, el Teatro y Qasr Al Bint. Tiempo libre por su cuenta, luego camine de la misma manera a la puerta de entrada. Por la tarde regreso a su hotel en Amman.

Petra también es conocida como la ciudad rosa roja, un nombre que recibe del maravilloso color de la roca en la que se tallaron muchas de las estructuras de la ciudad. Los nabateos enterraron a sus muertos en intrincadas tumbas que se excavaron en las laderas de las montañas y la ciudad también tuvo templos, un teatro y, tras la anexión romana y más tarde la influencia bizantina, una calle con columnas e iglesias. Además de los magníficos restos de la ciudad nabatea, en Petra se pueden rastrear los asentamientos humanos y el uso de la tierra durante más de 10,000 años, donde se fusionan grandes características naturales, culturales, arqueológicas y geológicas. El 6 de diciembre de 1985, Petra fue designada Patrimonio de la Humanidad, también Petra fue elegida por la Revista Smithsonian como uno de los 28 lugares que debes visitar antes de morir.

I highly recommend Classic Wadi Rum tours, all of the positive things you read are true. I took a 2 day package, staying in Amman the night of my international arrival, then stated I Petra my 2nd night, then drove back late and took international flight home. I felt I saw a good portion while I was there and am happy, but could certainly have spent more time. I was met right at the airport and the greeter couldn’t have been more helpful to get me through customs. The driver taking me to the hotel didn’t speak English very well so at roughly 2:00am I email Andrea and said I couldn’t communicate with the driver and by 8:00am I had a new driver (Haithum) and wow was he great, he truly made the adventure worth while. He spoke very good English, knew his way around, had plenty of stories and made the drive to Petra very comfortable, even encouraged me to play my American tunes via blue on his car stereo. I had worked with Andrea before hand that if there was time I would very much like to see Mt. Nebo and potentially even the Dead Sea. She gave me a very reasonable price and said that I could add that on once I was underway depending on how much time we had. Haithum took care of the rest. Andrea and her operations manager checked in via phone on my first day while on the way to Petra which I thought was outstanding, they both wanted to just make sure that everything was going well. Once in Petra, my driver helped get me into my hotel, (Edom Hotel - another awesome idea, no need to book the 3 time more expensive Montevide as Edom is nice and only 1 minute further). Once in the hotel Haithum waited while I checked in then he walked me to the visitors center and helped me get my ticket. I arranged for a guide through Andrea (highly suggest this), but only for one day. The guide was awesome, told me everything I ever wanted to know. All and all, I could have had a better experience. If you are going to Jordan for a reasonable price and a custom tour call/email Andrea at Classic Wadi Rum Tours. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks, one satisfied customer!
