Had a great morning on the Canning River. Weather was overcast and rain threatening but rain stayed away. Very pleasant paddling upriver for a coffee stop at Canning River Cafe adjacent to Kent St Weir. Stopped along the way for a raft up and some very interesting history talks of the Whadjuk Noongar people on this section of the river and Perth/WA in general. Very pleasant paddle into the wind back to our starting point. Highly recommend doing a tour with Kyle and Brian. No experience of kayaking required. The kayaks are very stable
Thanks so much for joining us, and for taking the time to leave a thoughtful review. We’re glad you enjoyed the stories we shared about the history of Boorloo (Perth), the Djarlgarro Beelier (Canning River), and the Whadjuk Noongar people. Hope to see you back on the water for another adventure soon. Kyle & Bryan
We went on the Cliffs and Caves tour last year and came back for this one. Matt is an amazing guide whose knowledge on the area is outstanding. He has clearly spent a lot of time learning the Aboriginal history, the history since colonial settlement, and a heap of information about the birdlife and the natural environment. What a lovely way to spend a morning!
Wow that was great to hear from you. So glad you sent this lovely review.
A fabulously informative kayak trip in the well preserved Canning River wetlands where we learnt so much about the history, unique flora and diverse fauna of this special environment. Matt’s knowledge and enthusiasm towards preservation of the wetlands was so infectious we felt privileged to be able to share this opportunity to experience this unique part of Perth. The kayak pace was good and the coffee stop was a great opportunity to talk with Matt and other guests. A highly recommended experience.
Great to hear back from you Anne. Thanks for that glowing review. It is much appreciated.
What a fantastic kayak tour. Matt was a wonder and very knowledgeable. Wonderful facts and a lovely paddle and you get a lovely coffee halfway through.
A great experience for the three of us venturing into an area of Perth of unrivalled natural beauty that we never really knew existed!! Matt did a great job looking after us for the tour and was very knowledgeable about the surroundings. Looking forward to the next tour!!
Cheers buddy. I am glad you guys enjoyed the day. We will hopefully catch up again.
We had a fantastic experience paddling through the Canning R wetlands. Matt was an excellent guide, great personal attention, full of interesting information and practical tips to make the journey so much easier. The location was amazing, with lots of birds that you could get up close to from the water, definitely bring your camera, don't worry about the kayak, it was very stable and not even a feeling of tipping over. Highly recommended to see a different side of Perth.
Cheers guys. It was great having you visit.
Just on the outskirts of Perth, this is a step back in time to an area barely touched since the arrival of Brits in the 19th century. The kayaks allow access to a wildlife area virtually inaccessible by any other means, allowing observation of a wide variety of birds in their natural environment. Matt offers an informative commentry that also adds to the enjoyment of the trip. Highly recommended.
Thanks Chris. It was great to have you join us.
A lovely peaceful gentle kayak along the river. Matt was a great host and super informative. Really interesting. Great coffee stop. I can highly recommend this trip.
Liz that is very nice of you to say so. It was a beautiful morning.
Great morning with Matt, highly recommend. Matt’s knowledge of the area and history makes for an engaging and entertaining tour.
Thanks for that lovely review. We always try to make every tour interesting.
A wonderful winters day with the sun shinning, the beautiful Canning River with all its bird life, serenity and the stories being shared from Matt of Go Go Tours was just fabulous and a nice way to spend Saturday, kayaking down the river. Loved it all ❤️
Hey Sherri, thanks for paddling with me. It was a great morning with the crew.
