AJ was a perfect guide . Fabulous , informative and interesting
AJ was really easy to deal with re.booking a tour with him, he is friendly, speaks excellent English and he is interested in us and our world and experiences. We had enjoyable and insightful conversations throughout our day . We had a list of places and things we would like to see on our first tour of Mumbai (all of them visited), and most importantly AJ had his lived experience of living in Mumbai and hosting tours that show visitors the ‘real’ Mumbai. We benefited from things that make a big difference to having a great experience - the driver (nice vehicle with AC) was able to drop us off and pick us up right beside every location with no time lost to parking nor waiting. - AJ politely ensured that our time at sights wasn’t affected by us becoming the attraction to other visitors looking for pics/selfies - our timing and routing between places meant that we weren’t caught in the mad traffic jams that we had experienced in the City - AJ is good at taking photos. In addition to our City tour we added on a visit to the Dharavi slum in the mid afternoon. AJ is a sensitive local guide, enabling us access to the businesses and community in ways that were welcomed - it is an inspiring place to visit and only with a guide such as AJ could we have navigated and seen so much of the ‘real’ Mumbai. Had we visited the sites and attractions ourselves we would have not have had anywhere near as good and complete an experience of Mumbai as we did. Highly recommend AJ.
Highly recommend. Professional and interesting and very accommodating.
Great, eye opening tour of Mumbai and the Dharavi slums. AJ did an excellent job.
This was an exceptional tour organized by Ajay! We were a group of 18 who wanted to see the real Mumbai. Ajay picked us up in an air conditioned bus and greeted us with handmade flower leis. He told us the history of many of the buildings in central Mumbai and the history of Mumbai itself. Ajay and the 3 other tour guides brought us to one of the slums where millions live and work and it was an incredulity humbling experience. We saw the bustling industry... bakeries churning our fresh bread, plastic recycling businesses, garment making, and the homes of real people living and working. The work ethic was astounding. An enlightening, educational, unbelievable experience guided by Ajay who lives and has grown up in one of these many communities. We then had a 5 star lunch at the Taj Mahal hotel ( paid separately by us but arranged by Ajay) which showed us the most luxurious side of the city when we had just witnessed the other end of the spectrum. We took pictures at the Gateway to India and then experience one of the laundries. Not Dhobi Ghat but a slightly smaller operation. It’s truly incredible the heart work that is done by hand and the volume and organizational systems in place. Again wonderful to experience. Our whole day was overwhelming but incredible and we have Ajay and his team to thank for organizing it all and showing us all the different sides of Mumbai. Highly recommend!!
Our tour of Mumbai was a special treat with Ajay. He provided us with spacious executive coach, with A/C, and sharing with us explanations of not just the sites — temples, churches, mosques, spice markets, etc — but stories of the folks that live in the city. The walking tour through Tarhavi slum was both enlightening and sad. Yet the people who live and work there are industrious and joyful. Amazing to see the number of businesses there that help service and support a metropolitan area of 24 million souls. I high commend and recommend Ajay for such a memorable experience!
Ajay was excellent. We were greeted with marigold leis and the bus was on time, clean, and comfortable. He showed us his Mumbai - the slums. It was both eye opening and beautiful. Ajay was so informative and positive. We loved seeing the city through his eyes. His team was vigilant about our safety and we all learned so much. I would highly recommend Ajay and his team for your tour of Mumbai
We had a fantastic experience with AJ Tours in Mumbai. AJ’s English was excellent, which made everything easy to understand and very enjoyable. He has an impressive knowledge of Mumbai’s history and culture and shared fascinating stories and insights throughout the tour. He took us to a variety of interesting places, including well-known landmarks and some hidden gems we would never have discovered on our own. What really stood out was how adaptable and obliging he was — happily adjusting the schedule to suit our interests and pace. AJ was also honest and genuinely caring, always making sure we were comfortable, safe, and getting the most out of our time in Mumbai. We highly recommend AJ Tours to anyone wanting a knowledgeable, trustworthy, and personable guide in this vibrant city.
I was hesitant to do this trip and tour a first because I thought it would be too sad. But honestly it was one of the most impactful tours I've experience in the 52 countries I've visited. Jay was professional, kind and knowledgeable. He took great care of our group go 18. He personally arranged a special lunch for us at the Taj Palace Hotel. He went himself to see the restaurant to make sure we had a good table.! Handled the reservation and escorted us there to the restaurant at Souk! A new friend in India!
An unforgettable night tour of South Mumbai with Ajay. He showed us the real Mumbai. He looked after us as senior citizens and gave us a most memorable experience. He is a most likeable young man and extremely flexible with your needs.
