This was an enjoyable...

This was an enjoyable tour. The tour guide seemed knowledgeable about the first half of the museum, but seemed less knowledgeable about the second half. We had time afterwards to explore on our own, which was nice.

Be Prepared to be Amazed!

I thought that I had a good understanding of Galileo’s life and accomplishments and then I took this tour! Ivano was an exceptional guide who took my husband and I on a tour of the Galileo Museum. The depth of his knowledge and ability to explain the development of scientific instruments and inquiry into a wonderful tour experience was just amazing! For me, seeing the actual telescopes that Galileo used was a highlight. Of course, the museum has a vast array of displays but having a guide like Ivano made all of the difference to the memories and new knowledge that we took away that day.

Great tour of Galileo Museum

Ivano was an excellent guide through the museum. Great tour highlighting the advancements in chronometer, imaging, navigation, weather, and communication over time. It’s one thing to read about scientific advancements; it’s completely another to see the tools developed over time. Best experienced in small or private groups.

It’s true that seeing the tools and inventions in person gives a completely different perspective on scientific advancements over time. We agree—small or private groups really make the experience even more special. We hope to welcome you again for another fascinating journey through science!

Engaging, Educational, and Fun

Our teenage children, chose the small group guided tour of Galileo’s Museum, and it did not disappoint! All three of our kids are passionate about science, and this tour was perfect for sparking their curiosity even further. The museum is full of fascinating exhibits, and our guide was exceptional, knowledgeable and engaging. The small group format allowed for a more interactive experience, and the guide made sure to answer all of our kids' questions. It was a great way to introduce them to Galileo’s contributions to science, and we left with a deeper appreciation for his work. Look out for the “finger!” If you have teens who love science, this tour is a must! It was informative, fun, and absolutely worth it. Highly recommend for families looking for a unique and educational experience in Florence!

Amazing guided tour through the history of significant scientific discoveries

This museum is amazing, but it’s even better with a guide! We were so happy to meet our guide, who explained the sun dial out front and then took us in and walked us through so many amazing artifacts - from astrolabs to batteries and everything in between. He really helped connect the devices to their proper time, place and use. If you are interested in science, this is an incredible collection, and our guide was integral to our experience.

Expert guide makes science come alive

Cortina is exceptionally gifted as a guide. She patiently answered our questions and shared her vast knowledge about Florence. She was caring and very competent. I would highly recommend this museum as a guided tour so you get the historical context for the scientific discoveries.

Great tour but finished too abruptly.

The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful, and tailored the tour well for us. However, we were a little disappointed when an announcement was made that the museum was closing about 90 minutes after we arrived. This was outside the control of the guide but it would have been good to go back through the museum on our own after the guided tour had finished.

The Science of the Renaissance

Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about tying the science and technology of Galileo and other scientists withe the other art and sculpture that we had already seen. We gained a new perspective on a different area of the Medici Family and their influence.

Galileo Museum Tour

This was one of the best museum tours of our visit to Firenze! We had our personable, engaging and knowledgeable guide Leonardo all to ourselves and learned so much! After a few days in Firenze, we understood the Medici patronage of the arts but this tour helped us understand the lasting legacy of their patronage of the sciences. Full of intriguing instruments that Leonardo brought alive for us through historical context. This museum tour should not be missed!
