It was a great experience! We walked around and saw some of Stockholm, we got to taste so many different food items known to Stockholm. There were 12 people in our group and we enjoyed talking with everyone
Good to hear. Stockholm works well when you get to walk a little, taste broadly and talk with the others along the way.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour with Theresa. It started out with small bite tasting and explanations followed by traditional holiday foods. There was lots of walking and we were not overly full which has happened in other food tours. It was very well curated! We’d recommend it and Theresa!
Theresa will be happy to read this, Joy. I’m glad the tour felt well curated and that the balance of tastings and walking suited you. Best, Peter
Theresa was an excellent guide, answered all of our questions, and was knowledgeable and personable. When I turned down sampling something I truly dislike, she worked with the vendor and I was provided an alternate. There was a no show on our tour, so my husband and I had essentially a private tour. The food was varied and that pleased us. Days later we found ourselves at the tour meeting point again and ran into Theresa starting another tour! She remembered us, we had a short chat, and my husband and I promised her new group that they were in for a treat! Thanks again Theresa for making our first trip to Stockholm memorable.
Theresa will love reading this. I’m glad she looked after you so well, and that the tour became a memorable part of your first Stockholm trip. Best, Peter
Totally worth your time and cost. Please bring cash for a tip! I forgot and Katon (sp) was so wonderful!!! Im so sorry I had nothing to give him. Wonderful explanations of the city and history.
Good to hear, Stephanie. I’m glad the tour felt worth both the time and money, and that the city stories came through well. Best, Peter
There was a little confusion at the beginning of the tour since the directions given did not match what the guide had and she did not have an accurate list of guests. However, once that all got sorted out, the tour was lovely. The tour started in a food hall and we sampled a number of foods and heard history of the food hall and information about the foods. We continued getting interesting history as we walked from stop to stop. Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable and did a good job herding the cats from place to place. The only food I would not recommend was a particularly potent salty licorice. We were warned and I’m glad I tried it but it is not for the faint of heart. The trip ended with a nice traditional fika. Overall, a very nice tour. It was a great introduction to some of the food, history and local color in Stockholm.
Good to hear the tour ended well, Matt. I’m sorry about the confusion at the start - that is useful feedback, and we’ll look at the meeting instructions and guest list flow. Best, Peter
This was an excellent food tour- we had a good variety of eating experiences and our guide Theresa was knowledgeable and entertaining. The meet up instructions needed to be a bit clearer
Theresa will appreciate this. I’m glad the food and guiding worked well - and noted on the meeting instructions, that is helpful feedback. Best, Peter
Great walking Nordic Food Tour with very knowledgeable tour guide. Loved all the authentic food & the interesting culture behind each dish & treat. Especially loved Fika time! ☕️
Fika usually wins people over. Glad you enjoyed the food and the stories behind it. Best, Peter
Out guide, Cotton, was great. A lot of historical detail while walking. The tour of the market and history of how it was built was very interesting. Very personable and enjoyed answering questions. Also history and detail about the food, cheese and candy.
Cotton will be glad to read this. Good to hear you enjoyed both the food and the history along the way. Best, Peter
Waited for 45 minutes by the leg statue, and guide never showed up. We met another couple that was also waiting and had booked their tour through a different site. We reached out to the contact number provided, but there was no answer/no response. Sent an email (info.cph@foodtours.eu), which was promptly answered, but the suggestion was to contact the local manager, Faizal. Tried to call/text him, but those went unanswered too. Received a full refund, so we weren't out any money, but it was quite a disappointing experience.
Hi Steve, I’m very sorry about this. This was our Stockholm tour, which is operated by a local franchise partner who runs the day-to-day operation independently. That said, it is still under the FoodTours name, and this is clearly not acceptable. A guide no-show should never happen, and I fully understand your disappointment after waiting 45 minutes and then not being able to reach the local manager. I’m glad you received a full refund, but of course that does not make up for the wasted time and poor experience. I will follow up directly with the Stockholm team, as this is not the standard guests should expect from FoodTours. The meeting point is not as described and this caused a delay to the start of the tour. The tour was a lot less than 4 hours long too. Otherwise a lot of different foods tried and interesting commentary from the tour guide.
Hi Emma, I’m very sorry about this. This was our Stockholm tour, which is operated day-to-day by a local franchise partner, but of course it is still under the FoodTours name and the meeting point information should be clear and correct. I’m sorry this caused a delay and that the tour was shorter than expected. I’m glad you still experienced different foods and interesting commentary from the guide, but the practical start of the tour clearly should have been handled better. I will follow up directly with the Stockholm team. Best regards, Peter, founder ★ 1000+ 5-star reviews | 99% satisfaction Scandinavia’s original food tour - now also in Stockholm
