Nos reunimos en el Tokara Delicatessen, rodeado de impactantes esculturas y arte contemporáneo, antes de salir a los viñedos. Serpenteamos alrededor de un hermoso paseo que nos lleva a lo que puede ser la vista más impresionante en el Cabo, donde hacemos una pausa para abrir una botella de burbujas y tomar todo.
Nuestro paseo nos llevará suavemente cuesta abajo hasta Thelema Wine Estate, pasando por filas de imponentes eucaliptos que le dan a los vinos su frescura de menta característica. Llegamos a la cálida y acogedora sala de catas de la finca, donde degustamos los aclamados vinos de Thelema, incluidos los que orgullosamente se vertieron en la inauguración de Nelson Mandela.
A continuación, regresamos a través de Thelema y entramos en la elegante sala de degustación de Tokara, donde las vistas del piso al techo se abren a algunos de los paisajes más dramáticos del Cabo. Completely amazing. Geoff runs a really great tour.
We absolutely loved the Stellenbosch Wine Walk and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Cape Winelands. Geoff was an incredible host and guide, bringing so much energy, knowledge, and personality to the day. It felt far more personal and authentic than a standard wine tour. The walk itself was stunning, taking us through beautiful vineyard landscapes with visits to three exceptional wine farms. Each tasting was unique and expertly chosen, giving us a wonderful sense of the diversity and quality of Stellenbosch wines. What really made the experience stand out was Geoff’s storytelling and deep understanding of the region’s history, wine culture, and people. He created such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that the whole day felt effortless and enjoyable from beginning to end. Everything was perfectly paced and thoughtfully organised, with the ideal balance of walking, wine, scenery, and conversation. The combination of spectacular surroundings, outstanding wines, and Geoff’s genuine passion made this one of the highlights of our trip to South Africa. A truly memorable and world-class experience. The Stellenbosch Wine Walk was one of the absolute highlights of our time in the Cape Winelands. Geoff was exceptional from start to finish. Completely worthwhile and an absolutely amazing experience. The Stellenbosch Wine Walk was beautifully put together with incredible scenery, excellent wines, fascinating stories, and a wonderful relaxed atmosphere throughout the day. What a very fun and interesting walking tour this tour was. In 4 to 5 hours, our tour guide Geoff took us into a piece of history, explained the flora and fauna and discussed countless other topics. Meanwhile, the breathtaking nature could be enjoyed. It was a walking tour with a personal complexion which we really liked. The wine tastings are lavish. You get to taste very different wines in three completely different wineries. The snacks on the way are good. Tips: Easily wear (hiking) shoes, wear a cap or hat against the sun, apply some oil and make sure you have breakfast.
Despite my husband and I feeling under the weather we decided to get up and out early for this trip and we were so happy we did. As an experienced travel guide author Geoff was a mine of information about the region and its history delivered with an abundance of humour. This trip is a gentle walk and taking in of the views stopping at four winemakers for tasting along route. Don’t be concerned about the walk. It’s not a route march. In our opinion it was a much better way to see, feel, taste and smell the region and its wine than any tram or bus tour. If you haven’t already booked this tour , why not? book it now!

It's not exhausting. Great scenery, beautiful wineries and a very nice group. Jeff has told a lot of interesting stories.
This tour with Geoff was absolutely brilliant. His wit and charm really enhances the day as did our fellow guests. If you are concerned about the walking the don’t as it’s just a gentle meander through the vines and olive groves. Thelima in particular was a fabulous winery and our host was an incredible lady who enhanced the experience with her humour. Don’t just think about this trip do it. Much better than an anonymous taxi or wine tram.
