Descripción
Este es un recorrido más remoto y accidentado por Griffith Park para mostrar el lado trasero salvaje de esta enorme naturaleza urbana. Los jinetes comienzan en el río LA, ruedan hacia Griffith Park, la estación de guardabosques y el antiguo zoológico, bailan como Ryan Gosling en Cathy's Corner (lugar infame de la secuencia de baile "LA LA Land") y se dirigen a Bee Rock para ver el valle a través de las montañas de San Gabriel. Tienes una escala real de Los Ángeles envolviendo el parque. También abrazaremos el árbol de aguacate más grande de EE.UU. NOTA: este paseo es más fresco en verano, ya que el sol está al otro lado de la colina.

Nuestro guía local lo recibirá en nuestra oficina, un bungalow exclusivo para bicicletas en el adorable Atwater Village, un vecindario fácil de recorrer a pie conocido por su ambiente de cafés y tiendas artesanales. Le presentaremos su bicicleta eléctrica, la familiarizaremos (sí, ¡todas las bicicletas eléctricas tienen nombre!) y le equiparemos con equipo de seguridad.
Nos dirigimos a tranquilas calles residenciales hacia el río Los Ángeles.
Nos detendremos en el "Red Car Bridge", sin automóviles, llamado así por los legendarios Red Car Trolleys que retumbaron sobre el río Los Ángeles en el mismo lugar hace más de 60 años. El nuevo puente metálico con franjas rojas a lo largo de sus lados es sólo para peatones y ciclistas. También aprenderemos sobre nuestro querido río Los Ángeles, el elemento vital de Los Ángeles a lo largo de su historia temprana, que proporciona agua esencial para la vida en esta región árida. Sin este río, Los Ángeles nunca habría existido.
Pasaremos por la estación de guardabosques de Griffith Park y el antiguo carrusel de Griffith Park, un tiovivo icónico construido en 1926 y que cuenta con 68 caballos de madera elaboradamente decorados y un órgano, donde la imaginación de Walt Disney tomó vuelo por primera vez.
Caminaremos en bicicleta entre las ruinas de este antiguo zoo abandonado (1912 - 1966), que ahora es un lugar de senderismo escondido con jaulas viejas y cuevas que albergan Shakespeare en el Parque.
Nos dirigiremos a Cathy's Corner, que se hizo famoso recientemente gracias a la película LA LA Land con la secuencia de baile de Ryan Gosling y Emma Stone. Esta parada también ofrece una vista impresionante del Valle, los estudios de animación de Disney en Burbank, las montañas de San Gabriel, las colinas Verdugo y el Cañón de Royce. Luego nos detendremos en The Notch, con vistas a Hollywood, WeHo (West Hollywood), Palos Verdes, Santa Moncia y Century City. En un día despejado también se puede ver la Isla Catalina, el Océano Pacífico y Santa Bárbara. Aquí nos desviaremos hacia Del Valley Vista Drive en dirección a Beehive Rock y otras mega vistas de Los Ángeles. Nos detendremos en Cedar Grove, un microbosque local que atrae a excursionistas de Hollywood para explorar su inesperada vida silvestre arbórea. Ubicada en una ladera de bajo perfil de Los Feliz, esta joya escondida ofrece vistas panorámicas de la ciudad desde Glendale hasta el centro y desde Hollywood hasta el mar.
Vamos a rodar más lejos en Griffith Park. Con más de 4.210 acres de terreno natural cubierto de chaparral y zonas ajardinadas de parques y zonas de picnic, Griffith Park tiene algo para todos.
El afloramiento geológico más significativo y el hito natural dentro del Parque Griffith. Su pico alargado más alto apunta hacia el este, sobrevolando el zoológico antiguo, y se eleva sobre las áreas de picnic y el campo de golf Wilson-Harding.
Salga del parque y recorra tranquilas calles residenciales, contemplando casas coloniales españolas....
Regresaremos al río Los Ángeles y nos detendremos en el nuevo cruce de La Kretz, también conocido como el puente North Atwater, un puente peatonal de acero atirantado que cruza el río Los Ángeles y une Griffith Park con Atwater Village. Visitaremos un árbol especial de Rose Gum, nombrado por el LA Times como uno de los 10 queridos árboles de Los Ángeles que los angelinos deberían disfrutar y proteger a toda costa. Esta Rose Gum, de Australia, es prima de los eucaliptos, pero de una línea familiar más antigua.
Bajaremos por el río Los Ángeles, pasando por establos ecuestres, hasta otro puente más pequeño en Sunnynook conocido como "Love Lock Bridge", donde los visitantes han colocado candados personalizados en su barandilla, como si fuera su primo parisino más famoso. Al regresar a las tranquilas calles residenciales de Atwater Village, presentaremos nuestros respetos a un "campeón nacional" designado: un enorme árbol de aguacate de más de 100 años que es el más grande de su tipo en el país.

This was an amazing tour. Our tour guide was excellent, super friendly and very knowledgeable of the area. I have lived in LA for over 30 years and learned more about Griffith Park in 3 hours than I have learned in all of my time living here. The ride was beautiful and peaceful and with the e-bike it can either be easy or challenging depending on the effort you want to put into peddling. I highly recommend this tour.

I had the marvelous good fortune to go on an eBike Tours L.A. tour through the hillsides around and behind Griffith Park. I’d never been on an ebike before, but Gavin (tour guide/owner/historian) walked us through the use of the very high-end and sturdy ebikes before we saddled up. Having the motion-amplifier of the ebike motor was great, particularly when going up hills! And the views were beautiful!! I have only good things to say about the whole experience. Gavin and Shelli-Anne were both terrific, professional but laid-back in the best way possible. I strongly recommend.

Very pleasant ride with beautiful views. The e-bikes really helped our group with mixed fitness levels stay together going up the steeper hills. The tour guide was very organized and knowledgeable.

This tour is exactly what you need to get a feel for the Los Angeles region. Gavin leads you up to the top of the hills in Griffith Park along lightly traveled roads. Starting out near the zoo (ish), you start climbing through wilderness and once you reach the top, every minute you'll find a new vantagepoint overlooking to city. EBTLA is well-run, and safety is a priority. Also, the eBikes are easy to use and make the steep hills melt away.

We took a great trip on a June morning-before it got too hot. Richie was our tour guide and was assisted by Eve. The bikes were in excellent shape and Richie made sure we were all comfortable before hitting the road. Helmets, safety vests, water and snacks were included with the bikes. The four inch wide bike tires made it easy to ride on the various surfaces we encountered (asphalt, dirt, concrete). We rode about 18 miles and saw all of the famous sights in Griffen Park and by mid-ride we were at the top with fantastic LA views. We even saw rabbits and coyotes. I hope to take their other tour offerings the next time I am in LA.

This was such a fun tour. It's a very unique and adventurous way to see the park and the city. Being able to see everything by bike helped peel back more layers rather than being stuck in a car. The bikes took us places cars can't go and gave sweeping views of the city. Gavin has deep knowledge of it all... the route, the sights and the safest ways to get there. My only regret is not taking any pics. I will be doing another tour and bringing my camera.

Wild and wooly Griffith Park ride with @ebiketoursla the day after massive rainfall was an ocular & cellular explosion of senses. I highly recommend it. Ever notice the clumpy bits along trails, all rutted and rocky? They were streams crossing our path, carrying away excess water from the still weeping soils. Dry arroyos magically flowed and tumbled lightly alongside our glide up into the secret part of the park that may have housed notorious P-22: Los Angeles’ beloved late lion. Grab a friend and reserve this ride and see for yourself the delights that lie in your own backyard.

I met up with Gavin my tour guide at his office in Atwater Village and he gave me a safety and instructional tour of the Aventon bikes we were riding. They are very robust machines with huge tires which make you feel very safe and comfortable! After stocking up on a few drinks and snacks we were off zooming down the bike paths of the LA river on our way to Griffith Park. We did a few stops on the way at the Autry museum, LA Zoo, Travel Museum and Gavin was constantly feeding me with information and history about spots along our route. It wasn’t long before we were climbing up the backside of the park with spectacular views of The San Fernando Valley. I’ve ridden my peddle bike up to The Observatory a few times and believe me this is a lot more enjoyable! You still have to peddle but going uphill at 15+ mph is quite the experience! Once at the summit we stopped to take pictures, drink and eat snacks and Gavin continued to feed me with information about the parks history and point out interesting sights such as Catalina Island and all the neighbourhoods you can see from “The Top Of LA” The decent was just as fun as the climb and after 3 hours I’m actually looking to buy my first e-bike!
