Esta experiencia invita a los huéspedes a compartir un momento de vida familiar en Mauricio en un tranquilo pueblo rural de caña de azúcar en el norte de la isla, cerca de un antiguo ingenio histórico de azúcar. El taller tiene lugar en nuestra cocina familiar tradicional al aire libre junto a una pequeña granja, rodeada de naturaleza y los ritmos de la vida del pueblo. Juntos preparamos una comida mauriciana completa con ingredientes frescos, locales y de temporada, a veces cocinando al fuego de leña como muchas familias todavía lo hacen. Los huéspedes participan en la cocina antes de sentarse a disfrutar de los platos en un ambiente relajado y agradable. A veces los miembros de mi familia están presentes, lo que aumenta el espíritu cálido y auténtico de compartir comida, historias y tradiciones alrededor de la mesa.

Aurelie first took us to the market where we picked out the vegetables for the dishes to be cooked. Afterwards, the driver took us to her parents' house. Everything was already prepared in the garden and we made 3 dishes and roti together. Along the way, Aurelie gave us an insight into the life of a typical family in Mauritius. We had a really enjoyable time with Aurélie learning all about Mauritian cuisine and culture. She taught us how to prep and cook the ingredients step by step then we sat down for lunch and enjoyed the delicious food we had prepared. The outdoor setting was great and we loved the hands-on experience. Aurélie Is very patient and a skilled cook. Highly recommended for all ages and all levels of cooking ability.

Excellent activity to do to discover Mauritian family gastronomy. Elodie is adorable. She teaches us how to cook like the grandmothers on the island used to. She shares her tips, her know-how. She also shares information about the traditions and the lifestyle of the Mauritians. We didn't see the time pass and we really enjoyed ourselves.
