Our guide, Juan, was great. Very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the area. Also very flexible and patient. He will plan the day based on your interests. We went to Peguche and saw a demonstration by an indigenous woman of how the textiles are made, and she has lots of stuff for sale. Then we saw the beautiful waterfall. Then we went to the market at Otavalo, shopped around for over an hour, and then, because we were interested in a more scientific explanation of the equator, he took us to a museum that is the real deal, no fancy tricks. Stopped for lunch too, etc. It was definitely worth it.
Thanks for your visit to our country Ecuador!
Diego was AWESOME! He has so much knowledge on not only Quito but all of Ecuador as whole. As an Ecuadorian who was born and raised in NY, he made me want to learn more about my culture and my family's history and the history of this beautiful country. Diego took us to so many wonderful places on this tour and he was so friendly and just overall a great person to spend the day getting to know la Sierra. The bizcochos in Cayambe were so delicious. He also took us to the Lago San Pablo, then we went to El Mercado de Artesanías de Otavalo and it was just what I imagined it would be. So many beautiful people and textiles. Just couldn't decide what to get and from where. The Cascada de Peguche was so beautiful!!! Everything was so wonderful and Diego was amazing!!!
Thanks so much for your visit to Ecuador and have taken our tour service !
We were met on time by Juan, our friendly and informative guide and Wilfredo our driver for this lovely trip. We were taken to beautiful view points, a rose farm to see the growing and picking process from start to finish, we visited a shop to see Alpaca products being made before visiting the waterfall and ending up at the market. Juan was fantastic throughout, looked after my mother getting in and out of the bus as well as humouring my teenagers. The company also helped me very quickly when I left my mobile on the bus at the end of the tour! Highly recommend.
Thanks so much for you visit to Ecuador and take our tour service Friends.

Great guide, knowledgeable. Good day shopping at the market, stopping for biscuits at the lagoon, the peguche waterfall and lunch and leather shopping at cotacachi. Definitely worth the money.
Lots to see in the city and good city bus tour (hop on/hop off). Be sure to visit the "real" equator exhibit right next door to the touristy one. It's a lot like many other South American cities, but has it's unique charm of modernity and antiquity. BTW, best airport in South America by far and a step above many US airports.
Thanks for your visit to 🇪🇨

We had an amazing 2 days touring in Ecuador with Great Horned Owl Tours! The first day we did a historical/site seeing tour around Quito and the second day we went to Otavalo. Our guide, the transportation, and the sites visited were all fantastic and everything was well organized. I would highly recommend booking a tour with this group.

My husband and I just completed our second day of touring with Great Horned Owl.our first day was to the Otavalo Indigenous Market, the Peguche Waterfall , a Biscuit factory and an amazing stop at an Equator site. The later was most interesting. The presentation was incredibly informative with great visuals to clarify any confusion. The staff was gracious and answered our questions Our second day was an Old City Tour. Our guide, Juan Caralos (? sp) was tremendously knowledgeable. Wevisited the Basilica as well as the Golden Church which must be seen to understand its beauty. Our luck was with us. The cloud cover of the morning cleared and we were able to take the Cable Car ride. The view of the city was breath taking as was the explanation of the plants we were seeing as we ascended the mountain. A quick break at the Republica Del Cacao offered a chance to have a beverage and to see the factory in action. Juan was delightful and helpful, particularly when climbing many stairs without a handrail. I strongly recommend this company for a wonderful and comprehensive tour in Quito and it’s environs.
Thank's so much for your visit and help us to reactive the tourism in our county. Do not forget you are allways welcome to 🇪🇨
I booked a tour with Great Horned Owl Tours after a referral from the JW Marriott. I knew right off the bat they must be reputable since they have the stamp of approval from Marriott. My wife and I booked the Otavalo and Peguche tour. Our reservation was confirmed by Roberto within one hour. We met our guide, Juan Cevallos in the lobby at the Marriott. He arrived about 10 minutes prior to the agreed upon arrival time. That was the beginning of a wonderful day. Several minutes later our driver, Omero, pulled up to the hotel in a very clean minivan for the two of us. Most tours are private, which leads to more flexibility. Once we arrived at the indigenous market in Otavalo, Juan offered to take us around and barter with the locals on our behalf. My wife scored some pretty good deals thanks to Juan. Omero stayed with the van so we felt comfortable leaving our backpacks in the van. We enjoyed the company of Juan and Omero so much that I insisted they eat lunch with us in Cotacachi. Juan recommended some local dishes that were really good. We traveled across town to a real handmade leather shop. The goods were top quality and craftsmanship unbeatable. Juan knew exactly where to take us for what we were looking for. We enjoyed our experience so much we booked a tour with Juan and Omero for the next day to the cloud forest and Mitad del Mundo. I can’t thank the people at Great Horned Owl Tours enough for making our stay in Quito a memory we will never forget. Roberto is the BEST! Thank you for all you did for us.
Thanks for your visit to our country and take our tour service. You are allways welcome to Ecuador 🇪🇨
