A 30 minutos del ajetreo y el bullicio de la gran ciudad es un lugar poco visitado con una atmósfera mágica. Una experiencia en muchos aspectos superior a la visita de Pompeya, que murió bajo las cenizas del Vesubio en el 79 d. C. mientras que Ostia continuó prosperando hasta el siglo IV. Caminarás por las carreteras principales (Cardo y Decumano) todavía cubiertas por el antiguo pavimento romano, para descubrir lugares, costumbres, vida cotidiana de los antiguos romanos. Llegaremos en tren a Ostia Antica (25 minutos) caminaremos 10 minutos para llegar a la taquilla del Yacimiento Arqueológico de Ostia Antica. Exploraremos la ciudad de la antigüedad tardía, y caminaremos viviendo por un día como los antiguos romanos, iremos a ver teatro, el spa, baños públicos, el Capitolio, almacenes, la plaza de los gremios, edificios de varios pisos un Termopolio Lugares donde antaño se concentraba la vida comercial de Roma. Esta ciudad vivió más tiempo que Pompeya y fue abandonada hacia el siglo IV. Olvidados en la Edad Media, hoy las excavaciones arqueológicas han sacado a la luz una superficie de 120 hectáreas. La visita es íntegramente a pie, se recomienda calzado cómodo, sombrero y agua. Visitaremos los lugares más evocadores y significativos de la antigua ciudad de Ostia. No solo caminaremos por la calle principal, sino que iremos al descubrimiento de mosaicos, balnearios, tiendas y molinos, baños públicos, templos y villas privadas. un paseo arqueológico con un guía que te sacará a la luz los distintos aspectos de la vida de la época. Esta visita no es apta para personas con problemas para caminar, se recomienda calzado cómodo.
Después de la visita guiada, puede elegir si quedarse y visitar el museo o la antigua sinagoga o continuar hasta Ostia Lido hacia la playa, o regresar en tren y guía. Si lo desea, el guía le dará toda la información que necesita para ir a visitar otras cosas o ir a almorzar junto al mar, que está a solo una parada de tren.

We immensely enjoyed our sunset dinner cruise with Kingston 1000 Island Cruises. We sailed on the 17th of August on the Island Star out of Kingston. We had reserved a premium table next to the window which was wonderful and we were only one row away from the front of the vessel with a great view of the band that was performing east coast music. Our starters were delicious with a nice selection of cheeses and fruit and the amuse bouche of the tomato and bocconcini. We ordered the French 75 and the Mimosa-rita for our drinks. The French 75 (gin, prosecco and lemon) was just perfect but I didn’t like my Mimosa-Rita and our server (Karlee) replaced it with an Aperol Spritz at no additional cost. The Spritz was good…but a little dash of St. Germain would make it better :) The salad was fresh and tasty and our meals were unexpectedly delicious. Immense compliments to Wheelhouse Culinary! My husband had the Braised rib and I had the Arctic char - both were plentiful and beautifully presented. The rib was cooked to perfection and fell apart . It was very flavourful and the artic char melted in my mouth. I had ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms and they were perfect - nicely done and a perfect accompaniment to both our meals. Karlee - our server - was patient and kind and efficient…a big thank you to her. Now to the cruise…it was a beautiful night - great sunset and we were able to escape the rain which occurred during our cruise and conveniently ended when we returned to port…great timing on the captains part! We were able to see some sights before the sun set and the band leader gave us some local history on our way out of port…as well as details on the geography of what we were passing by. We greatly enjoyed the band - unfortunately they had a problem with one of their amplifiers when water (from the rain) shorted it out. They took it in their stride and continued to play with one amp and a smile. We highly recommended this tour!

Friendly & knowledgeable. Fun for all ages. Size & amount of access & restoration has greatly increased over the last 15 years.
Micaela was outstanding. She has a wonderful way of showing all of the sites and explaining what it looked like to live in the town. She also answered our questions regarding Roman history and things we saw in Rome. Highly recommend her tour of Ostia and also anything else in Rome. One of the highlights of the trip.
