Andreas was a very friendly and fun guide and the experience was a lot of fun. The lake was gorgeous and made for a perfect swim on a warm day.
Awesome guide, views and waffles. Totally worth it and would do it again. Bring solid walking or hiking shoes. And, a bathing suit. Friendly ducks lol. Moderate level exercise and fun to hear the guide give us the local history and other tips on what to see and do in Oslo.
Fantastic hike with an awesome guide Andreas from Troll Tours made this a memorable morning in Oslo. The forest hike was amazing and the snacks and delicious waffles and even a small dessert in the end was delicious! Andreas told great stories and made sure everyone was taken care of and engaged. Highly recommend.
Thank you so much for the fantastic review! I am thrilled to hear that the hike, stories, and treats made for a memorable morning in Oslo. Ensuring everyone is taken care of and having a great time is what it's all about. Thank you for choosing Troll Tours and for the high recommendation! Warm regards, Andreas.
This was a lovely walk in the forest near Oslo, easily reached by the metro train. Our whole family enjoyed the outing but since it was my 15 yo son's favorite thing we did on our entire 2 week trip to Norway and Sweden, I will write what he said about the experience. "The guide was cool. He was nice and didn't care I only had jam on my waffles. The waffles were good. The forest was interesting, I liked the ground and the trees." Pretty high praise!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Hearing that the hike was your son's favorite part of a two-week trip through Norway and Sweden completely made my day. Please tell him I said thank you—and there is absolutely no judgment here, jam-only waffles are delicious! It was a true pleasure hosting your family in the forest. – Andreas
I was a bit hesitant to book a tour with a meeting point outside center city Oslo in the forest, but after hearing about the Norwegian love of the outdoors & how every tram lines ends in nature, I had to go see what it was about. Getting there was easy peasy. The views over Oslo were absolutely amazing & definitely worth the trip. Andreas is a top notch guide, keeping his narrative both informative & entertaining. The hike was perfect - enough to feel you had exercised but not enough to wear you out for the rest of the day. And what I can I say about his delicious waffles with brown cheese, cooked out in the open as you sit at a beautiful lake enjoying the company of ducks & cooling your feet in the water? Superb! This activity was one of the highlights of my trip. PD He has walking poles which otherwise would have been a deal breaker for me!
Thank you so much for this incredible review! I am delighted that venturing outside the city center rewarded you with one of the highlights of your trip. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the narrative, the lakeside waffles, and that the walking poles helped make the hike a success for you. You are welcome back to our forests anytime! – Andreas
It was a lot of fun to have Andreas as a guide. The trails are very beautiful, the view is breathtaking, and the waffle at the end is simply perfect! I can only recommend the hike to everyone. What to keep in mind: I find it is really more suitable for people who are physically active or generally go hiking. For people who have never done this, I would advise against it. Additionally, you must definitely bring your own drinks!
Hi Celina, thank you so much for the wonderful review and for recommending the tour! I'm thrilled you enjoyed the breathtaking views and the waffles. Your advice on bringing water and being prepared for a proper hike is incredibly helpful for future guests. It was a true pleasure guiding you! – Andreas
A relatively easy hike with great views, great food and great guide. The meeting point is at the end of the metro line, which (thankfully) did most of the mountain for us - with lovely views on the way. The walk through the forest was accompanied with stories of Norwegian culture and folklore, and included walking up and down the hiking path and through rocky areas. The view point showed Oslo city, fjord, Olympic ski jump, and of course nature! The waffles were delicious, with cardamom, cheese and jams. Would recommend.
Hi Ashley, thank you for the fantastic review! I'm so glad you enjoyed the scenic metro ride, the forest folklore, and the panorama of the city and fjord. It was a pleasure sharing our culture—and those cardamom waffles—with you. Thanks for the recommendation! – Andreas
This was an absolutely amazing experience. The hike was everything it was promised to be and the waffles with the Norwegian brown cheese (what I was dying to try) were sublime. If I could give 6 stars I would! The owner/guide was personable and genuine. Thank you !
Hi Amber, thank you so much for the wonderful 6-star review! I am thrilled that you enjoyed the scenic hike and that the Norwegian brown cheese waffles lived up to the anticipation. It was an absolute pleasure hosting you in our beautiful forests. Happy travels! – Andreas
Beautiful walk which shows you a different side of Oslo, with stunning views. The walk is blended perfectly with stories and facts along with he way. Great waffle to finish as well!
Tusen takk, Callum! I'm so glad you enjoyed discovering a different side of Oslo and that the stories, views, and fresh waffles hit the spot. It was an absolute pleasure walking with you! Best, Andreas
Great hike and delicious waffles! Guide is funny, hard working, and knowledgeable. Be prepared for a trek and make sure you can handle lots of uneven ground and a few hills. If you can you'll get to see some lovely views, a lush forest, and a picturesque lake with the best waffles you ever had.
Tusen takk, Kurt! I really appreciate the great review and your helpful tip for future hikers. You did a fantastic job tackling those forest hills and uneven trails, and I'm so glad the fjord views and fresh waffles made the trek worth it! It was a pleasure guiding you. Best, Andreas
