Terry was an excellent guide. He gave interesting historical commentary as we walked. We stopped at four delicious restaurants and were so full at the end that we had to take our dessert to go.
The food tour in Old Town Alexandria was wonderful! Terry our tour guide did a fantastic job--even though there was high temperatures, smoke from Canada, & humidity --he was concerned about us and would make sure that we all were withstanding the heat. It was a small group of 5 in which we were 3 of the five--it was so good to meet 2 other people & get to know them. Terry was very knowledgeable about the food in each setting & the history of the buildings & surrounding structures in Old Alexandria. He made it very interesting & fun! We had a lot of very good & different foods at 4 different stops: First Italian--delicious homemade pasta & bread & wine if so chosen; then Mediterranean: Falafal, hummus & other dipping sauces; then Mexican with delicious fish tacos! and dessert which none of us could hold!-- but were allowed to take wonderful cupcakes with us! I highly recommend this food tour--one of the best Viator tours that I have done!
Wayne was an amazing guide and so knowledgeable! The food we sampled was great and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was a great way to kick off my time in Alexandria!
Outstanding food and tour. Wayne was a wonderful guide, friendly, knowledgeable, and ensured the group's needs were met and well taken care of throughout the tour. I will definitely book again through DC Metro Tours and hopefully get Wayne as our tour guide.
Terry was amazing!!! Such a great experience. Food was fabulous and the history woven in-between was a perfect mix for our group of 6.
We did the Old Town Alexandria Food Tour on Saturday with a small group of friends, and overall it was disappointing. Although our guide was friendly, we learned very little about Alexandria, the restaurants, or the dishes we were served. Several times we actually had to ask what we were eating because no information was provided. The vegetarian in our group was also shortchanged, with no alternative appetizers offered at a few stops. For $80+ and added fees, getting three small dishes and a cupcake, along with minimal commentary, just didn’t feel worth it.

This was the perfect mix of walking and learning about the history of the town plus good food. The guide had amazing personality and was very knowledgeable. 10/10 would recommend.
There was SO much food on this tour and it was all amazing and delicious. It was perfect balance of sitting and eating mixed with walking and learning about the neighborhood’s history. Wayne was a fantastic guide and very knowledgeable about the area!
Fun walk around Kings Street, hearing a little history along the way. Restaurants were inviting and food plentiful and delicious!
